Is the Ex showroom price for the car inclusive of 7.4KW AC charger? How much does MG charge for the charger?

Yes for Essence and Essence Pro variant 7.4 KW AC Charger is included in ex. showroom price.

For other variants it is available @ extra cost of around 50k. Alternatively also available online on Amazon @ 20k-40k from various brands.

Amazing. Now MG should not rest on its laurels and launch the lower variants with bigger battery ASAP.

Its time for dealers to milk money from the initial bookings with inflated insurance and mandatory accessories as well as forced advance payments etc. I really hope MG follows integrity and transparency in allotment and delivery timelines to the first 8000 buyers instead of letting dealers play their games.

On a side note, the 50kWh battery pack seems to have a cover like rough texture underneath it. It looks like additional protection to the battery pack or they may have entirely changed the cover to a different material this time.

Re: MG Windsor EV Review

Given the aggressive introductory pricing of the Windsor Pro EV, I went ahead and booked one as a possible replacement of one of our beater cars which runs ~2,000 kms in a month. Hoping that this saves Rs ~15,000/ month in fuel cost alone that would justify the price of the car, despite next to nil EV benefits in my state (JH).

To my surprise, I did not expect an increase in the price just one day after the official bookings started, and consider myself lucky to have booked it on the first day. However, after paying the booking amount, the antics of the showroom started.

I got a call from the relationship manager an hour after the booking amount was paid in the morning mentioning that I would need to pay an advance amount since they would need to 'place an order' for the car. I told them that I have paid the booking amount and that is all I need to do. They insisted that it is 'their policy' that if an order needs to be placed, they would need the customer to pay an advance amount, to which I replied that I would, in that case, think of cancelling the booking since it would be a corporate registration and my company might not be willing to pay an advance amount. He finally backed off upon this (subtely saying that he would check with the GM for this); I am okay with it.

Now that there has been a price increase, I anticipate a round 2.0 as well around the insurance and accessories bit, since I am surely not interested in paying a super-inflated price for their insurance or the accessories (that I would not want to add). Waiting to see how it unfolds.

Apparently approx Rs. 34k is the chargers cost. 15-16k is being charged as installation fees. They will provide 10 Metres of Wire free of charge after which Rs. 500 per metre will be charged additionally.

Re: MG Windsor EV to get a larger battery, improved range

I booked the windsor pro on 8th may. A windsor 38kwh was sent to my home for a TD. I felt the car very underpowered compared to Nexon EV 30kw i had driven in the past. Maybe because the charge was at 15% and the power delivery was blunted due to low voltage in the cells. Going to TD the mahindra twins and then decide on the booking.

Re: MG Windsor EV to get a larger battery, improved range

MG finally brought the Pro version to India and nailed it with the pricing. Considering the 60K price hike after 8000 bookings, it is still a banger. With ADAS, a powered tailgate, and a 15 kWh battery, the price hike is nominal compared to the 38 kWh variant.
Introduction of the new Blue & Silver might garner more bookings.

I was waiting for the launch of eVitara, which was now postponed to the end of the year. Prospective buyers, who expect a real-world range of 350+kms can now choose the Pro version without any doubt.

My only doubt is regarding how the manufacturers respect their promise on Lifetime Warranty (15 years). I
