aah yes. Since she always had freedom to go in and out, this new restriction probably feels like punishment. She brings the whole house down with her cries. When the racket is too much to bear, I just let her spend some time on the roof garden/terrace

Yes, but I don't know if this tomcat is from acche khandaan. I don't know if he has a stable job or a large territory. Or whether he will be faithful to her all his life.

That's level 1. Level 2 is peeing/pooping in selected corners; seemingly as a complaint. So be advised.

As most Bollywood movies goes, the parent (=you) is never able to control that

The bigger risk - do you want to be a grandparent (which definitely might happen within a few months if you don't spay her asap)

Could you even guarantee that she would be faithful to him?

Only one thing is certain: that you will have to pay the bills.

Especially the bills for those grandchildren.

I had a cat who was happy to spend hours in the garden. Unfortunately she had the habit of coming inside to use the litter tray and then going outside again. Well, she was elderly already by the time she became my cat, and there was no changing her ways.

Below is something that I had tried with 1 of the male kittens that we had rescued in teaching him how to use litter box:
Hold their front legs and try to dig in the litter box like how they would naturally do. Apply gentle pressure on the stomach/lower stomach area and repeat the digging process 1 more time.

He understood and started using the litterbox immediately.

Looks exactly like those beautiful Anatolian Shepherd dogs that loaf about the streets of Istanbul. Superb animals.

But this ‘exotic pet’ thing is frankly a bit mad.
And such an eye-watering sum of money…wow!

Wow, amazing, mind boggling price but what a beautiful animal

Value is relative to the buyers position in life, who are we to judge. This dog will literally live a king’s life for sure

Cheers

Re: Team-BHPians and their Pets

So the kitten that was abandoned at our house, is growing up nicely now and well, she found a way to get under the roof of the bird cage.

Currently her favourite place to hang out.

Birds don't seem to mind her.

What a photo! Beautiful capture of a lovely Dog. Quite a ‘Senior’ pet. Good thing is the relatively smaller breeds are better off than the bigger ones, due to less Body Mass.

Re: Team-BHPians and their Pets

Greetings fellow BHPians. Our Indie calico cat has given birth 3 months ago and we are giving the kittens for adoption. They have been indoors from their birth, fully transitioned to solid foods and are litter trained. All of them are super friendly, curious and very playful. If you are looking for a pet companion, this would be a good age as they are young (with the associated cuteness) and also relatively independent.

We haven't named them, but I'll refer to them as Cookie, Nala and Zorro. The pictures posted are in the same order. Cookie is a half tuxedo, male. Nala is white and brown bicolour, female. Zorro is a full tuxedo, male.

Cookie:

Nala:

Zorro:

If you are interested, please drop me a message. I can assure you that they have been very well cared for. To make transition easier for the little ones, I will also be sharing some of the toys and food that they are used to. If you are based in and around Chennai, we can work out on the handing over process, that should not be a problem.

If anyone in your circles could be interested, please share this post with them. I am also attaching a collage with all three for easier circulation.

PS: You can find a few more pics of them at the end of my previous post (Aero India | 10th - 14th Feb, 2025). Please note that the ginger one here has already been taken. I can share more pictures if anyone is interested.

EDIT: Just to be clear, we are giving them away only because it's not possible for us to take care of them all. The mother will continue to remain with us. And there is no money involved whatsoever.

A quick sitrep. I am talking to someone who is interested in Zorro and if everything works well, he will be at his new home over the weekend. Cookie and Nala are still available. I will update here in the thread if there is any change in the situation.
