Thanks 599gto. HDR stands for High Dynamic Range. In simple terms it is a method which helps in getting all the areas in a photograph (Bright as well as Dark) equally exposed. You can read this for more info http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_dynamic_range_imaging
