Sure.

This is a place called. Mont. St. Michel and is located in the west of france and is about a 3.5 hour drive from paris. All the sand area that you see in the 2nd pic is supposed to get covered in water during high tide late at night. And apparently it looks very beautiful when that happens. But when we visited we didn;t have time to stay that late so we didnt get to see it. Also, they have to clear certain parts of the parking lot after 6pm as the water starts to seep in. Since we went in the summer it was crowded like crazy...took us two hours to get out of the parking and onto the main road.

Holy Crap! your photos look absolutely surreal, F50. Is it just me or are Canon cameras much better than the rest provided the person using them is NOT an expert?

Yeah.

I personally found that my Bro's Canon, when taking the same shots as my Sony, performed much better, the pic quality is really much better.

But Canon's are very sensitive to a shaking hand....

What does spot metering do exactly?!
It detects the light coming from the "spot" where the camera aims and adjusts the shutter speed and aperture accordingly, so that you can get that light (subject) perfectly. Buttt most times I use this setting in daylight conditions, specially on a dark object, it sets shutter speed/aperture in such a way that the object comes clear but the whole background is overexposed. So then when do we use spot metering? Which is the best situation for spot metering?! For me, spot metering works best when shooting the sky and getting proper sky color.

Spot metering , Meters only that small 1'cm or 2'cm circle in ur viewfinder. it gives the exact exposure value from this "SPOT". I use it mostly for creative purposes, like when i delibrately wanna darken one side of the subject or when there are big differences in bightness levels on the subject. Also when u are doing macro photography u would prefer spot metering. If you dont have spot meter in your camera then u cud use the centerweighted meter and go close to ur subject and then check the exposure, keeping this exposure u get back to ur place and shoot. this way the centerweighted meter would act as a spot meter.

u should also look into "Zone system" and "exposure compensation" when playing around with spot metering.

And remember always bracket ur exposures

:D The size of that circle is a question of perception.... it could be 1cm or 1km!

Very true. Helps a lot when shooting stuff with high contrast. (eg bright sunlight & dark shadows)

A small correction aZa. Spot metering works out from the center of the viewfinder area and in degree. In spot meter mode meter takes reading from only center part of the screen. Usually 2 to 3 degree depending on the camera's metering accuracy.

Was just going through some cds and i found these, these are all shot on 400ASA rolls and i got the photos scanned on to a cd while developing. I think these pictures are atleast 2-3 yrs old. And all are handheld shots

Radisson MBD in diwali time in NOIDA ... here i was just checking the 400asafuji film, the frame is a bit tilted i was across the road and there was BUS coming so i had to hurry up

This is the MGF mall in gurgaon again ... shot from the car coz i liked the lighting and the colors.
