Good I too have the same confusion.
By the way it was a single extra wide panorama. I split it into two and the top one is the left portion and bottom one is right.

Panorama is not a camera feature. I clicked overlapped images with proper alignment and used Panorama factory to stitch it together.

I saw this from the office balcony today evening, something about it made me rush down for the camera. Taken using E-500 and the kit lens 40-150mm, my cheapest lens. The distance between the far hill and coconut tree on the right is about 2KMs. It looks close because of the telephoto compression.

I am not sure if the D60 has a button for panorama, the usual technique is to mount the camera vertically on a tripod and keep taking about 20-30 photographs with overlapping areas and then use a software like photoshop or autopanpro etc. You need to make sure the exposure is same throughout the series of pictures. If you are using autopanpro, you need not use a tripod and also it adjusts the exposure so that it is uniform across the pictures when imported into the software.

Second photograph is beautiful. Could you please post it on flickr and give us the link? There are some areas of the photograph that have had some effect of JPEG compression.

Did you apply Orton effect on the eyes also? I'm no expert to give comments, but IMHO eyes are best left sharp.

Crazy Driver,

Thank you for liking the picture. Actually, orton effect (layer copy -> Gaussian blur -> Blending mode to Lighten -> changed opacity) was done as the last step as I wanted the effect to be uniform across. Thank you for your suggestion, will try that one as well and see how it comes out.

Aha nicely captured swimming Dolphin. While overall the pic is sharp, that gentle blur over the eye depicts the motion. Where Mukul?

This was at Vallejo. Very nice place for a weekend photography trip! And what you think is blur is not really blur, the eye of this animal itself is very blurry in texture. Its due to the protective sheath which runs over their eyes to protect them while underwater.
