Wow, a fisheye! Composition wise that's probably the most challenging lens to use, do post some images from that.
A friend of mine picked up his D60 a week back from C Chowk. While we were finalising the deal, two walk-in customers came, one of them a foreigner, and took away 2 more D60..

Older models get out of the market and demand very soon in India. In Delhi you will have a hard time to find even a D60 these days. D40X is way beyond the limits.

Whats the latest price GD?
And is the Nikon D5000 out in grey?
OT, funny naming for a Nikon IMHO.
27500 with VR kit lens. Will have to check 'bout the D5000 (sure it is a funny name) if availalble in grey..

Which fisheye is it?? And for how much did you get it?? Also which mount?? Sorry for so many questions. It's just that I've once used the Tokina 10-17mm of a friend of mine and it was quite an amazing lens.

Well, Nikon and Canon seem to be in some kind of competition for the weirdest naming of a model, Nikon with their latest D5000 and Canon with their T1i.
My vote goes for the Canon, I just don't understand how the Rebel T1i (500D) fits into the progression XT, XS, XSi. But then probably it's just to catch people's notice, get some forum attention and a long discussion on why they're named so lol:

Its a Tokina 10-17, Nikon mount. Paid 29k for it. I think they also had a Canon mount in stock.
I'd also tried a friend's 10-17. Fell in love with it, especially the potential for highly creative compositions (the same reason I love my 12-24). Agonised a bit between getting the Tokina and the Nikkor. Decided to go with the Tokina as it works on a full frame camera at 15-17mm.

That is effectively 15-25mm on APS-C sensor. That's not totally fisheye. I have an extendor lens for my Sony F-717, it is called Raynox DCR-FE180Pro. It is a .24X wide converter, that turns the Sony F-717 effective FL into.. hold your breath... 9-45mm. If you are shooting straight at full wide, it is hard to avoid your shoes from getting into the frame. :D Anyway, compositionally it was a disaster in my hands, I soon stopped using it.
9mm would be a circular fisheye - you get 180 degrees horizontally as well as vertically. these lenses usually form a circle in the middle of the frame. I think Sigma makes one. The Nikon 8mm was a manual focus and is no longer made. I've never tried one of these. the 15-16mm full frame fisheyes only give you 180 degrees horizontal on the full format cameras but not vertically. they fill the full image plane. easier to compose with I think.

:Shockked::Shockked: I wish I can add 10 more, such smileys!
Edit: Samurai, would it be possible for You to post pics taken with that setup. Just curious.

That is a rectilinear UWA not a fish-eye. Of course the geometric distortions at those focal lengths are really funny lol:.
49K with kit lens 18~135
35.5L body only..

The 12-24
is a rectilinear lens. I quite enjoy the way it exaggerates distances.
While on wide angles, I've been toying with the idea of replacing my 12-24 with the Sigma 10-20 or Tamron 10-24 (they go even wider). Does anyone have any first hand experience with these? Wondering if its worthwhile or whether I should hang on to the 12-24.
