I plan to gift my father a Sony Ericsson on his birthday in November..plz advice which one it should be ?

1. w950i
2. p990i

does the p990i have the same music quality as the walkman ??

Added ltr: the main objective is to give him a phone that is nearest to ipod capabilities. But w950i has a slight drawback in that it has no camera and that is the reason why I also looked at the p990i.

But quality of music is the primary criteria.

Also the 950i also seems to have a 'membrane-type' keypad. Do these type of keypads last long or are they easily spoilt ?

If the main objective is a music phone, stay away from the P990i. 1. it has more functionality and is therefore more complex than an iPod. 2. Quite a few units still seem to have various issues. 3. Why spend so much more when your requirement is for a music phone.

I'm also confused b/w
1.W700 12K
2.W810 14.5K with some speakers
3.K750i 11K
4.Nokia 6233 12.5K

My requirement is excellent sound quality n a good camera within 15K budget...

is it worth going for W810 2.5K more than W700???

only 2 things worry me about the 950i..the first one is the functionality & longetivity with the membrane keypad and second is the absence of any camera. That is what pushed me to look in the direction of p990. Though as I said music is the first preference.

Also was looking at a top-of-the line phone.

if you have to save money then just get a k750i. saved money gets you a 2gb card.
Or just go for 810i. don't look in between.

Hi Guys,
Thinking of picking up the SE k750i.Price presently is Rs 8000 and for the cell with the bluetooth earphone Rs 9000.Till how much can you expand the memory without the cell processing speed slowing down. How is this cell for browsing the internet.Does it open attachments like doc and pdf.
Waiting for your feedback.

I've got a W880i. It's very easy to operate and works more like an MP3 player. It's got a 2mp cam which is pretty good. Only drawbacks are that the keys are too small, so you need to use your nails more than your fingers to punch in the right number and it doesn't really look it's price.

Even the W850i is a good buy (if you're ok with slider phones that is).
