I have a Chromecast 2 for 7 years for my non-smart LG 43" LED TV. Nothing has gone wrong with the Chromecast & it serves the purpose whenever I use it. I bought for around 4000 Rs then, I think - seems to be much more expensive now.
My 10 year old Panasoic Plasma 42" has stuck on boot logo (written Smart Viera) and not proceeding, since 3-4 days. Already tried the common methods mentioned on few online articles, no result.
Anyways TV has flickering issue since many months (refer previous post
HERE). Y'day a technician visited and told that motherboard needs replacement costing about 6K with 3mts warranty, but the flickering would require ever bigger expense of possibly replacement of panel (10K+) - he suggested buying a new TV itself. (btw, I do have 3 x 3D BT goggles, hardly used in initial period).
Any idea how can I recover some money by selling this 'non-working' TV ?
So here Im intending to buy a 50" LED with budget of 25-35K - in next few days itself.
Initial online study shows good reviews for Acer H series :
https://acertvindia.com/product/h-series/ : 4K, 60W speakers, Android-11, 3 yr warranty (can buy extended one)
Amazon showing price for 30K. Any views on this ?
How good is VU Gloled 4K 50" ?
I have been using Mi Box 4K TV unit since 2 years, and really happy with it. So in all probabilities I wont be using TV's "smart" functionality.
However, I may buy a budget soundbar + woofer setup in near future.
inputs awaited, thanks in advance.
regards,
Pranav
I have a 2017 LG smart TV, so this one is on the older webOS. And also a MacBook Air.
What is the cheapest hardware/software solution to be able to cast my Mac on the TV (UH617T)? It has Miracast in-built, which supports only Android (and Windows Phone, lol).

Both Acer and VU are good budget options. VU has been there for quite some time now and has good reputation. Acer has recently launched its television range but going by their history of manufacturing PC monitors I would be quite comfortable buying them. Both have equally good reviews online too. Personally I would go for VU Gloled because of better panel quality.
I would also highly recommend to go for 55 inch option. Those 5 inches make quite a difference as compared to the cost.

Try the oneplus 55.
I've used Sanyo, TCL in the budget range. I got TCL after discarding VU and other budget brands from consideration. The oneplus replaced the TCL, because it was better. Very easy on the pocket, and frankly much better than the TCL, which was better than VU. If that makes sense.
The native android on it is also very easy to live with. You wont need your Mi Box.
Finalised Samsung Frame 55-inch Matte version (Non-Matte not available anymore from 2022 onwards). Need reviews if anyone using it? Thank you!
Hi
My six year old LG OLED 55in E6 has developed black spots near the edges and numbers are increasing lately. I very rearely use the TV (twice/thrice a month) and the timer shows 650 hours in total. What may be the reason for the same? The extended warranty is over now and LG people wants the screen to be replaced.:unhappy
Any advice?

A year ago, I purchased a 65-inch Samsung Frame (LS03B) and I am satisfied with my purchase. Even during mid-day, I have not experienced any glare on the screen. Additionally, the sound quality is normal, which is to be expected from a TV of this size (purchased 800QB soundbar) Overall, I am very happy with my purchase.

Hey, my 2020 Lg OLEDs C9 (I have 2 same TVs on different floor of my house) have developed similar black dead pixels around the border of the tv. From distance it is not noticeable but if you look closely, they are definitely visible. How much LG is quoting for screen replacement. Google search says, its a common issue, it may not be OLED related but I am not 100% sure.
Off late LG has started compromising on Panels as well. I bought a 55 inch UQ8020 from Flipkart for my other house. All reviews say it has an IPS panel but I have received a VA panel.

When you say cast, if you want to just cast the player with the files on your Mac then it will be easy (
https://www.plex.tv/media-server-downloads/). If you really want to just replicate your screen then it is not possible

On fire stick app store, you can use AirScreen app. Not sure how reliable it is.
Need suggestions for a 65" TV for watching movies. Don't need a 4k one. Best VFM model at present with good sound output. TIA

Any budget or brand preferences? If not, then the following options are quite good, although not from the most reputable brand:
https://www.flipkart.com/thomson-164...01688309758747
The above one costs only Rs. 41,999 along with additional credit card discount offers as well.
https://www.flipkart.com/tcl-p635-16...01688309758747
The above one costs around Rs. 49,999 with additional credit card discount offers.

Wouldn't go with Thomson as they are not a mainstream player (bad reviews on some places), TCL may be considered. Also do look at VU/Hisense (Same brand) if looking for VFM.
