Why don’t you subscribe to office 365? It will be always updated, small monthly fees, yes it adds up to a large amount on yearly basis but you always have latest version and everything is on cloud.

Thank you Turbanator. I prefer the one time licensed original version and don’t use the cloud. Will wait and see how things unfold.

Cheers

Re: Apple M1 vs Intel chips

Booked M1 Mac Mini last week at Apple.in. Will be my first mac along with windows. This will be for personal usage, office laptop continues to be a Windows.

Hope I’ll be able to manage both together in terms of getting used to both operating systems parallely. Would like to hear from anyone using both Mac and Windows together.

M1 Mac Mini meet this requirement.

Re: Apple M1 vs Intel chips

Received my Mac Mini couple of days back. First impressions are good, exploring various options/features etc.

Everything seems to be better/smoother yet different from windows OS, guess it’ll take some time getting used to.

Congrats ! Can you tell me what monitor is that ?
I got my mini yesterday (8/512) . Currently hooked it up with a prehistoric LG LED 32 inch TV (720 p) that was lying idle. And I should say got an overwhelming urge to get a proper monitor for this little thingy !

Thanks and congrats to you as well.
This is appx. 9 year old 21" LCD I bought for Rs ~7K to replace my CRT monitor. Today there would be much better options at this price point.

Re: Apple M1 vs Intel chips

Looking to get an m1 mini. Would be my first Mac. Is it safe to buy from Amazon or should I get it from the apple website or imagine store. I can wait for a discount. I just missed the HDFC cash back offer last month.

Re: Apple M1 vs Intel chips

Just placed an order for the M1 Mac mini. I feel the value for money is incredible when you can own one of the fastest computing machines for as low as INR 65000.

Also realised today Apple launched their new line of 24 inch iMacs with M1 Chips. Looks like the cheapest version is INR 120000 and comes with a 4.5k 24 inch display and magic keyboard with Touch ID. I think it is great value, considering a good 4K monitor alone costs upwards of 30k.

Er... the cheapest version does not come with Touch-ID, it is the next higher version that comes with it.

The cheapest version has the normal Magic Keyboard.

Cheers

Re: Apple M1 vs Intel chips

I am looking to buy an M1 Mac Mini. The local apple stores are not offering any discounts, so I'm thinking of buying it from flipkart or amazon, where there is a 2k discount and 5k instant HDFC Card discount. Are these places reliable apple resellers? Appario is the seller on amazon, so I assume it is reliable.
