Glad we are somewhat already on the subject on Refrigerators.

I need to buy a good one within the next 2 weeks. So far all I have to come to understand from this bhp-thread is:

1). If you have space I would suggest two 200-250L refrigerators rather than one 300-500L ones. First of all most of the 350+ sizes are imported hence their spares availability is questionable in long term. Secondly with two refrigerators you use one for long term storage, opening it once in one or two days and the other one for daily use. In case one goes you still have the other to fall back on.

Buy no refrigerator that is over 350 L and seem to be imported kit. 250-350 seem basic kits and are manufactured in India.

2). In case you have to get one large machine, choose it on the following basis:

• . Longest warranty for compressor
• . Longest warranty on the rest of the machine
• . Warranty of electronics
• . Service network in your area. Please take a feedback from users in your area.

@tanyasisidia; You missed out one very important point. make sure you get an Inverter Refrigerator. Power consumption is half of the equivalent non-inverter unit.

I had thought about it, as I do like my potato chips! However, I decided against, as it is so easy to deep-fry chips and I know how to make them just as I like them.

Good reasons to buy, though, might include: health need to reduce oil/fat intake; the dangers inherent in pans of very hot oil.

I will like to buy a small ultrasonic cleaner for the home. I checked on Amazon and came across the following
GT Sonic VGT 1000 from Koryo for ₹3990
CE 5200A for ₹4600 and 5600A for ₹4990
Oritron GEMOro for 4990.

Anybody with experience of any/ some of these.

Koryo is a bigbazaar brand, and very budget friendly. But remember that "Itna paise mein Itna hi milega". Their items are very basic, with the bare level of functionality integrated. So take care of that.

Thanks. Did spot the stuff in the US market. 750ml, 50W. The CEs are both Chinese with near identical specs, again 50W 750ml, as I guess the Koryo is. So I think I will chew over it a bit and then decide. The Koryo is currently out of stock in futurebazaar.

a typical Vguard instant heater lasts 2 years. That's it. The coil goes bust as soon as the warranty gets over.

We bought a Venus water heater in 1998 & it has been doing its job faithfully until now.

So in the year 2010, when we were looking to buy another water heater (this time instant), we could not think of anything else but Venue (model Lava). Has been doing it job till date as it has to be doing.

Even if I've to change it today, I will be happily buying another Venu tomorrow.

I also found Venus quite reliable, but now that they are no longer using a copper tank I have my doubts. Also, I have had the heater and overload blow quite a few times in my 50 litre unit.

We had major issues with the pressure reduction valve leaking for no reason - it costed us multiple visits and then a 3rd party PRV to stop the leak over almost an year!

Are there any detergents available here to wash down jackets? A quick search on amazon.in didn't return anything.
I am thinking of using Ezee (the one used for washing woolen cloths) but don't want to risk ruining my jacket.
