My usual vote against LG washing machines... But I just seem to have a bad 'un.

Happy IFB customer here. Have been using a front loader for more than 12 years now without any issues. If that helps.

Thanks gents and yes the lady too :).

Managed to narrow down to these 2 models from LG
- F1280WDP25 http://www.lg.com/in/washing-machine...ashing-machine
- F12B8EDP21 http://www.lg.com/in/washing-machines/lg-F12B8EDP21

As far as panasonic goes , the below model
- 127VB3W01

Did quick check with Croma and Reliance outlets close to where I live and both these outlets dint have the models of LG and were simply trying to push what they had in their store.
Also there seems to be a dearth for Panny WM's. None has 'em and the guy at reliance looked at me like I asked him for a space shuttle when we spoke about the front loading Panny.

Looks like it's gonna be a busy weekend, will keep ya'll posted.

We used a IFB front loader for 6 years with no issues. Noisy and maybe wash quality not great but robust hardware.

Now on a LG 6kg inverter direct drive front loader for last year with impeccable experience. Stunning quietness, lack of vibration, good looks, nice slim form factor and excellent wash quality. Setting it up was a breeze and took me 20 minutes from unpacking to first wash.

Frankly avoid Bosch as their sales and service is suspect. I have just bought a new dishwasher from Bosch and while it seems to be a high quality CBU, the fellow who (very casually) called for 'installation' sounded like a goat-herder.

He was promptly told to get back to his goat herd :-)

You will find these machines at the LG Shoppe(s) and Panasonic exclusive outlets.

Five years back when my IFB was on its last legs I looked around and bought a Samsung Front loader. Till date I haven't has any issues and never had to call the service guys. My wife is happy with it. In fact when I had to replace my refrigerator I went for a Samsung because of the good performance of the washing machine.

+1 to this. But the prices are way higher than in stores like Next, Girias.

Some stores like Girias get the specific model on request if they dont have it in stock. But if they realize that you are keen on a specific model, they become stingy with the discounts or freebies.

and has to be a front loading one.

I am not very sure about Bosch's service in Bangalore. It's very inconsistent but LG I can bet my bottom dollar. I had a 7 year old vacuum cleaner which had stopped functioning and I even picked up a new one as a replacement( was darn lazy to call the service center and get the motor replaced on the old one).

Quite recently I simply called LG and gave them the model number of the old vacuum cleaner and asked them if it can be repaired ? It was a positive and the service engineer came home in less than 48 hrs since I called and fixed the vacuum cleaner.

As for my AC's I dint think twice , simply brought an LG.

Thanks again, this weekend will scout around and see what LG and BOSCH has in their range.

Get LG eyes closed !!
Both models have similar base. Only a few features here and there.

Words directly from the horse's errr.....the experts mouth.

Do give your views on the Panasonic front loaders too.

BTW, heard on the grapevine that your wash load is about to increase...however have no way to confirm that...

LG Front Loader = Hyundai Verna Fluidic
Sharp, elegant, fresh, made for Indian customer and brilliant service backup.
Made in India as well.(most of the models)

Panasonic front loader = Nissan Sunny
Reliable, loaded with safety features but looks boring, struggles at times in Indian conditions, service ain't that great.
CBU import.

Check at the Panasonic stores - banaswadi on ORR, Dickenson Road near Adigas/Bhima Jewelry or Koramangala on IRR if any of these are close by.

Riju - vaguely remember an offer at the Panasonic brand shops this weekend. Check it out.

We have a Keeline Stabilizer that feeds power to one of the ACs in the house. Over the last few months, it has started to buzz when running - almost like a bee. Continuous and annoying. Does this mean a problem (about to blow up OR eating up electricity) or is it just the matter of adding some padding around the mounts to damp the nuisance?

EDIT: It's about 3.5 years old

I am not particularly happy with LG top loader that we got 2 years ago. The wash quality is strictly average. We tried many permutations and combinations of water levels, detergents, load quantity, program type etc.
The life of clothes has also reduced considerably - I see banyans developing holes. :(

Could be that the hosiery company has lowered quality control standards. Top loaders are supposed to be gentler on clothes compared to front loaders.
