@RJ - Washing machines - Go for IFB or Whirlpool, they know how to make one. However I doubt on your requirement for 7 KG & 15K!!! May be Videocon comes in this price range, but my sincere & humble request - stay away from them, may be you can settle with Samsung too, but not Videocon; we're suffering.

@RJ - Just wanted to share few information though you might already know
- Use front loading instead of top loading if you want to save water; though the price of front loading is more, it helps
- The Pro 700 S will do a double rinse even if you don't require it sometimes; but the only advantage is the patented 1-2, but not sure how much of help it is

My parents use a front loading Whirlpool and I have a top loading fully automatic Whirlpool both are very good though the front loading gives you more programme options and it is easier to add the softener, whitener etc

I have been using Whirlpool H-65 top loading fully automatic washing machine for the past 6 years and till date I have got it serviced on three occassions only. I say its a reliable product and would be going in for Whirlpool again this October (festival season):thumbs up.

I have an LG front loader for the past eight years. It has needed service twicwe - once when the door switch gave up, which was replaced on site; and a second time when the bearings became very noisy, and had to be replaced. For this they took the machine to the workshop. We live in a very hard water area. Excellent service from LG.

However, why do you need a combo - buy the 2 separate. Personally, I avoid combos - sometimes problems in one, you may need to junk the other also.

What load range are you looking at?. Pls find the link for a better comparison. I feel most of the Top loading Fully automatic washing machine come with inbuild drying mechanism. Although the drying capability may not be 100% but still does the job of drying. A few minutes outside and they will be done 100%. IMO a top loading machine is ideal for space contraints issues.

Not true at all. Even in a dry place like Hyderabad, few minutes outside will not dry 100%, forget Bombay.

A full load coming out of my 6.5 kg fully automatic top loading washing machine takes 60-90 minutes on my tumble dryer to dry.

Ok - just saw it on the LG site. Never seen one before. Have only seen the stackable washer/dryer combo before.

About Washer/Dryer combos, one problem you may face is that you need the washer to be a near a water source, whereas you may need the dryer to be either vented out or in a well vented room - that may sometime be a problem.
A dryer which isn't well vented is a fire hazard.

Please also be aware that in the same combo machine, the capacity of the washing machine and that of the dryer are not same.

Let me explain, if you are buying the 7.5kg / 8kg model, you will be able to wash clothes for that capacity, but for drying you will be able to use 3.5kg-4kg only - which means, if you have a full load of washed clothes, you have to remove 50% before drying.
