Duh!! I meant "Safari is not merely an Apple product". Open Source projets have several contributors, not merely those from the entity sponsoring it it - so Safari will contain contributions from third parties too. Yes, apple is the main developer.

This is a bit like saying "openoffice.org is a Sun product"; yes main sponsor and contributor is Sun (through an independent non-profit), but several, (including yours truly in a non-tech way) contribute to it.

But I am close to nit picking.

I vouch by Opera. After having used it for quite long, I cant seem to get my hands off it. Even my cell phone has Opera on it. The feature I like the most in Opera is its ability to switch off/on display of pictures and plugins (flash, Java etc) when a page is loaded with a simple key-combo. This helps me to concentrate on reading the content rather than getting distracted by ugly and flashy ads and banners, especially on sites like rediff, indiatimes etc. Also it saves a lot on bandwidth as no images/plugins are downloaded unless specifically requested. It also has very good suport for tabbed browsing (better than Firefox and IE7) and is also a free download without any adware.

I've been using Safari on my mac for a long while. Even though I also have FF2.0 running on the same machine.

While I am pleased with the outcome, I am not too sure about safari for windows. There was an IE for mac too lol, and it was awful.

I'd recommend firefox for windows or Opera Browser. Tried and tested.
