The answer to that depends largely on your budget and what kind of conditions you plan to shoot in. In general wildlife lenses need to be pretty long (400mm or so), have a reasonably fast aperture and fast focus speed. Thanks a lot Jaibir, I guess I would stick to under 10k budget max 15k if it's one heck of a deal. where can I get it for real cheap Singapore or Dubai if in India which is the best place to get a good deal and with a warranty tag attached

Dubai is relatively expensive. I'm not sure which is cheaper between the indian grey market and Singapore with bill & warranty prices. India with b&w is the most expensive.

Only advantage with Singapore is that you get international warranty with Nikon lenses, which is valid in India. The 55-200 VR grey is available for 10k on Ebay India. Legal India price is 15k-

I'm having trouble with my Canon S2. After having encountered the famed black screen of death and searching online for fixes, I found that turning the camera on Tv mode, exposure of 15 seconds and shooting a picture works. The problem with this camera is that iris tends to get stuck which isn't a problem anymore. Now, indoor shots are fine but the moment I step outdoors to click pics, they are completely washed out ! I have no idea from where it captures so much light and the picture looks just white, even in Auto mode. I called Canon customer support and they said I should send the camera in for a look. Now, I have a feeling that this thing is somehow related to the iris getting stuck problem which is extremely common with this camera. Please help experts ! Rudra, tsk1979 ?

From what I've heard the optics are quite good but the focus is the slowest amongst the 70/80-200 2.8's. Which mount are you looking at? In Nikon the 80-200 2.8 might be a better bet. However, its heavier and doesnt focus as close and $200 more expensive. The Sigma is also supposed to be decent (faster AF but slightly inferior optics). However, I've heard too many complaints of focus errors (at least in Nikon)

200mm is a little short for wildlife photography. For the rest, I'd answered a similar query here http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/935046-post2714.html. Basically, it depends on your budget and the camera you plan to use (the D40/60 create additional constraints).

The 80-200/2.8 AF is a fantastic lens but it's heavy, more expensive, has no VR and AFAIK won't autofocus with a D60, which needs AF-S lenses. Ever since I got my 18-200 VR, I haven't touched my 80-200, mainly because the former is lighter. The big daddy of them all is the 70-200/2.8 VR but that costs three times as much as the 70-300.
For compatibility its safest to stick with Nikon AF-S glass. Im not sure third-party lenses will AF with your camera. Both B&H and Adorama are excellent shops. I've bought stuff from both without issue. Order from either one.
Customs shouldn't be an issue - they usually don't stop people for a lens. They are more interested in handycams and digital cameras.
