Here in Cochin fz35 costs 27k. I think its high. One can get an entry level dslr for that money. How much is the retail price for FZ35 in Chennai?
In chennai it is 16K. If that is the case I will go with FZ35 instead FZ100.

Is that with the shop warranty or company warranty? The price I was talking about were of their authorised dealer. Grey one is available at 16k in cochin with 6 months shop warranty (by mouth only :)).
there is a FZ35 for sale in Classified for Rs 9K :)
There is only one caveat while purchasing FZ100 (particularly).
Its so good that you really want to buy, but then again one should not start thinking, if instead I had just bought a DSLR!
One should be very clear on that decision. Because one would nearly spend 30-35K for FZ100. I was under the same cloud, before I shifted for hunting a DSLR.

That shop name is digiclickstudio. he is the authorized dealer for nikon but sells other cameras as well. It should come with company warranty.

Kodak Z760 - for general photos
Nikon Coolpix 10MP - for quick pics
Olympus Trip MD (35mm, film) - not in use

I'd agree with you, but I am buying it from US where its around 22k and hence the price issue is taken care off :) Warranty is not my concern for me!
Mine should be here by 11th October.

Hello,
I have a query on buying a Nikon L110 point and shoot.
Below is the specification sheet one dealer in Hyderabad is quoting Rs.14500 where as the price on Nikon's website is Rs.14950.
Specifications:
12.1 MEGA pixel with 15x optical zoom and 4x digital zoom,HDMI ready and 720p video recording with dual microphones.
Package includes : 4 GB memory card, battery charger with 4 Ni-Mh batteries and cables,2year warranty.
Request you to suggest me the right price to be paid for the camera.
I am not sure what is the right price. I bought the L110 for 14,161 last week in Reliance Digital.

If you dont shoot any longer than 100mm the S90 (now S95) is a very nice cam.
Hello Guys , I am planning to buy a camera and is confused between few choices
1) P100 - I liked it for its sleek design, 25x Zoom features etc. However it does not have RAW image mode.
2) P700 - This is a new launch, almost all features same as P100, minus 26x zoom but additional feature of RAW images.
3) D3000 or D3100 - This is an entry level DSLR, I actually wanted to but one like this but i am scared if I will be able to make full use of it's features. Also I have heard that in-order to extract complete capabilities I will have to spend a lot in Lenses.
As always, Teambhp is the only place where I can look for suggestions/advice.
I think P100 has limited manual controls.
FZ100 from panasonic may be a better bet if you are interested in "getting creative". Another good cam is Fuji HS10, but the zoom is manual, and there are no manual controls for video recording(you cannot set aperture shutter etc., for video)
If you are not too much in Zoom, and are okay with 18x, then look no further than the FZ38. The more I use this cam, the more I fall in love with it.
