Configuration For Multitasking PC

Guys Need to asemble a fast, cool and silent running multitasking PC in midrange budget. Mainly for home usage with fast internet connectivity and downloads thru broadband, moderate gaming and office applications. Also need to connect TV. So pl suggest a good TV tuner card with programme capture if within budget. Audio and graphics should be onboard but good enough for the task (may be a N-Vidia chipset).

The monitor is already decided - Viewsonic widescreen 19".

Please help.

Fast internet connectivity and download speed does not depend on your PC configuration. They depend on your broadband speed (2Mbps or so) and your service provider.

This is a good and affordable configuration for a mid-range PC Tech2.com India > A Multimedia PC Under Rs 35,000 > Features > PCs & Laptops > Desktop PCs . Check this out.

Get a Pixelview Play TV 415 USB TV tuner (about Rs.2200) if you have multiple PCs (PC and laptop etc) as this is a plug and play device and can be carried around. Otherwise buy an internal TV tuner card from Pixelview/Pinnacle/Compro (about Rs.1700).

AMD 780G motherboard,
AMD Athlon X2 5200+ dual / Phenom 9500 quad processor

or

Nvidia 7050 chipset motherboard
Intel E8400 dual /Q6600 quad processor

2GB DDR 800 RAM ( 4GB if you can go 64 bit) either way

the former if you want better onboard graphics capability - the 780G is almost as good as an HD2400 'card. it also frees up some cash you can spend on a 22 inch monitor , or better

the latter if you want the performance from the processor more than the onboard.

thats a lot of cash man. I mean without the monitor if that is?

Maybe a high config Core 2 Duo, 2 or 4 GB of RAM, 400-500 gigs of HDD, a good TV tuner card could also be thrown in,a DVD writer. Thats the basic config which i think that u should go for.
Further maybe the pros could throw some more light on this...

Thanks Amey,
Veering towards Core 2 Duo 6750/8400. Therfore need a stable MOBO with good integrated graphics to save cash. Any suggestions.

I believe N Vidia 7050/7150 chipset is good but so may boards are using it. I am confused as to which one will offer best compatibility and stability.

Also any comments on reliable wireless K/B Mouse combo. I belive only 2.4 Ghz ferquency is reliable. Lower frequency K/B are not so good??

If you read the config well, i have included a video card so you shouldnt be worried about onboard graphics.
I would really not recommend going for the 6750, better buy the 8200 or 8400.Also sorry for the goof up, the 8200 is for 7,800/- and 8400 is for 8,800/- or so.

I read that Amey and noticed the GPU. But would like to save that 5k for the speakers. So any suggestions for integrated graphics boards.

Thanks.
