Updated yesterday. Nothing on the face. Battery life is also fine.

It's been a while that I dropped in here.

My iPhone 16 Promax which I got in December 2024 is holding up pretty good compared to my previous iPhone 15 Promax.

The only difference is I " stopped caring" about the battery and charge whenever I want, unplug it whenever I want etc.

My screen time is as usual between 5-6.5 hours a day which is a lot (my 2025 goal is to keep reducing screen time).

Looks like this time around Steve Jobs didn't short change me with a lemon. :D

Way to go mobike008, life becomes so much simpler by not bothering about this especially when the outcome won’t make a huge difference in overall battery life beyond 3 months or so.

Enjoy the phone and let it add value to your life rather than living for the phone’s battery life rl:

Cheers

Spot on !!

I realized one thing. Why am I stressing so much since I will anyway change the phone each December.

I decided to lead a "stress free" life here on. rl:

Slightly off topic;

As adopters of technology - iPhone, EV and so on, we have actually become slaves to it and seem to now be subject to several new forms of subtle yet inexorable tyranny.

1. The Tyranny of unnecessary and wasteful, insidious ‘auto-renew’ subscriptions.
2. The Tyranny of FOMO and consequent Forced Upgrades.
3. The Tyranny of Battery Health Monitoring.
4. The Tyranny of the Smart Watch.

And the list goes on.

Personally I have decided to counter this by the following measures;

1. Ruthlessly axe subscriptions.
2. Upgrade only once in 3 years or ‘when a significant differential’ is presented to me in terms of the phone camera.
3. Simply Ignore all this Battery Health nonsense.
4. Back to wearing all my beautiful mechanical watches in rotation - real works of Art some of those are.

Its been nearly a year since I purchased an iPhone 15 Pro Max and the experience is so far so good though this is my first bigger screen iPhone as I was using 6.1 inch iPhones prior to it.

Battery life is great even today and I get around 1.5 days even if I use harder despite battery health is at 96% and 236 cycles, which is way better than my previous iPhones.

And, I sometimes charge at 80% to ensure that the battery health should not drop further.

Quite the opposite. Its only with the iPhone, I finally have a phone that is working for the 5th year, none of the smartphones crossed year 4. My only reason to upgrade is for 5G, otherwise the phone is in perfectly working as a daily driver.

I'd likely drag this another 1 or 2 years.

Last I checked. One of the resellers had batteries available all the way back to iPhone 6S in 2023. Compare that to OnePlus who didn't stock anything for a 3 year old model.

I am on a replacement battery and that's working as expected.

Shankar sir, since I know we have the same opinion on some of these things, I'm still using my Samsung S7, 7-year old phone. I don't see any issues with performance or camera (or perhaps I really don't care about the camera). I browse, online payments, use Google maps, email, some office work, stream movies, book tickets, whatsapp, instagram. For all that, the phone performance is absolutely fine, as is the battery performance.

For a couple of months it seemed like I would be forced to upgrade since a communication app we use at work was not supported on the old version of Android that is on my phone (and later Android versions are not supported). But that business requirement changed.

So now I'm hoping to hit the 10-year mark with this phone. Let's see if it is possible.

Quite the opposite for me, all my phones are android and last 5 years plus easily.
Two recent examples - asus 6z still rock solid, not a single issue purchase was 2018.
Google pixel running strong for the fourth year now, full support and no issues. Iphones are too restrictive, used a few ages back and stopped after the 6.
I was checking for the 16e feedback if any, for a backup phone.

Only the OnePlus 5 and 7 lasted long. Samsung S2, S3, Note 3 and S7 all conked off or had abysmal performance.

Am not into tinkering in my 40s. I had the OnePlus 5 as a secondary phone, but it was not used much, and carrying 2 phones was a pain.

Hi,

The lens of one of the cameras of my 15 Pro Max has cracked; however, the camera is working fine.

Now last week I was in BKC, Mumbai, and casually enquired regarding the same, and the store employee suggested simply changing the glass covering at 1.5k; however, today back home in Delhi, when I went to the Apple Store (Saket), they stated that the above information is incorrect and a full back panel glass replacement (16.9k) needs to be carried out as the camera lens glass can't be changed separately.

How do I proceed with the same, or do I reach out to a third-party repair store (Pls suggest one in NCR)

Apple has rolled-out iOS 18.4

I was having issue with my camera control button not working intermittently after 18.3 update. It is working fine after updating to 18.4 now.

I got my wife's iphone 11 fixed almost with the same issue as you have pointed. It costed me around 8k last year and its running fine as of today.

Thank you.

I got it done at Koramangala as well. With the similar name you mentioned. Overall I was charged Rs.6,300/- but they changed the original parts from the phone. The battery, the speaker. It was too late to confront as I had already paid.

Later sold the phone to cashify for 8k change or 10k change.
