I want to know the defects in an iPhone. There were many before like you cannot forward a msg to many people, etc. Is that still there? And how good is it over a HTC Touch? I mainly want to know the negative points of it.

I was planning to pick up the $499 16GB iPhone in US. Back in Bangalore, I have Vodafone, with no GPRS. I don't have WiFi too. I have few questions,

1. Is this $499 phone unlocked?
2. What all must I do to use this phone with my Vodafone connection? Or like any other phone, just insert the sim & use?
3. Any recommended accessories I can buy.

I dont use hotmail, but what would be best is to upgrade the account (20$?), so that you will get pop access to the account.

Or the other option, ask Hotmail to forward email to a "custom" domain. The custom restriction is to make sure people dont forward to gmail or yahoo.

And remember reading somewhere that they have plans to give pop access to all users, eventually...

you can fwd hotmail e-mail to gmail :)

I have just managed to buy one in the US. One of my colleagues has bought it for me. Someone coming to Bangalore will bring it for me. I have also opted for the 16GB version. I have Airtel connection and I do not have GPRS either. I will talk to my service provider and see how best I can use it.

Yes, this version can be jail-broken and hacked. So, you better buy it before they upgrade the version to 1.1.4.
