Just call Airtel 121 number and request with sim number, should get it done in couple of hours. You have to switch ON and OFF the cellular also.

It took 3 attempts and 40 minutes to get connected to a customer care executive yesterday. The first two attempts failed with the line going blank and they charged me for it. After speaking to them, they were unable to help and asked me to head back to the store where I sourced the nano sim. So much for customer care.

Will be revisiting the Airtel store this evening.

Yes please do it yourself. I received the nano sim by courier, that too unsolicited, since I had a 4G phone. I decided what the heck, let me try it and switched. I had received a paper with the SMS to be sent but have lost that. However I think the SMS instruction I mentioned earlier is correct.

Turns out, the first nano sim I collected was a dead one. Don't know how this happens. I got another new nano sim and my phone was up and running on Friday evening.

First start up was not the best of experiences and for a moment I was wondering if the switch to iOs was a good idea. There are quite a number of steps to get things up and running. Anyways; once I was done with all this, there was a verification process for iCloud after which the service started upgrading and would not end. I was connected to super fast wifi. During this process, I tried to install wassap and Facebook and nothing was happening for over an hour. I rebooted the phone and things settled.

I set out the next day for some train spotting. Used the camera quite a bit, shot a video, uploaded it to youtube, did some browsing and the phone held up for a good 12 hours on a charge. Except for the youtube upload, I did everything on 3G.

Charged the phone till about 80% on Saturday evening and the phone held up charge of about 45% till Sunday night. Limited use of the phone and I leave data on all the time. Super impressive.

I am still adapting to typing. Got so used to the swipe keyboard that the process of typing feels ancient. However; the word predictions are impressive. You hit the first letter of a word and it gets pretty close to what you had in mind as you next word. Neat.

Love the touch id . Place your thumb on the button and you are unlocked.

The form factor is superb. I never had a rubber jacket or screen guard on my android device and except for one major drop that killed the phone (Fixed under warranty), the phone remained scratch free in 3 years I used it. I intend to keep things the same with the iphone. Not sure how vulnerable the camera is to picking up scratches. The back is slippery and one must be careful when holding the phone. At times, I place my hand on my left front pocket, just to be sure the phone is there. Super slim form factor.

I am impressed. Guess it will take some time to understand the finer aspects of this beautiful device.

3rd party keyboards like swiftkey and swype that are available for android are also available for the iphone, ios onwards. I was using swiftkey on my android, and its cloud sync feature actually transferred my old 'learnt' dictionary to my iphone, along with the swype features.

Form factor is great, and everything works in a very predictable manner with no surprises. I also keep the phone free of any protective cases, but putting on a basic screen protector film maybe a good idea. The screen can get fine scratches pretty fast.

Instead of film use tempered glass. It is super easy to put on and can be decorative too if you choose colored ones. I've put on black tempered glass on my 6+ and like the outcome. Also available for the back too.

Tempered glass transmits touch better to the screen than films. Has better clarity. Doesnt fade with time. Is scratched less easily.

If your phone screen falls down on a sharp object like a stone, film will transmit it straight to phone screen while Tempered glass will break fist.

Neither will protect if spot pressure comes directly on the screen, like a car or scooter driving over it.

Ttempered are far better than normal plastic ones, I got one for my ip6+ few days back. Get one with oleophobic coating.

Tempered glass on last iphone lasted almost 1 year, broke one of the corners when i dropped the phone. plastic ones i had to change every 2-3months because of scratches.
