Guys, I am in Dubai currently where the 6s 64gb is retailing for 2590 dirhams (around 47k after converting to INR). To buy or not to buy?
I know warranty won't be valid here. This is at Carrefour, some other small shops it might be cheaper.

Beware no facetime also if it is a UAE specific handset, if it is imported only Facetime would work.

After the latest software update for the iPhone 6 iOS 9.3, on clicking the friend request icon on Facebook, the screen goes blank and back to the main menu page.

There is a neat trick for some issues in iOS. Press the top key for a few seconds until it says 'Slid to power off' and then immediately press the 'Home' key and wait. The screen will refresh and any app running in the background will be removed from the memory. It helps to speed up the device.

I think I can do without facetime!
Anything else to worry about?

Yes. It does work. After pressing the home key you need to wait, maybe 30 seconds.
The phone does feel a little faster.

Any suggestions for a iPhone 6 power bank.
How is Anker?

My sister just bought for herself an iPhone 6s 16gb rosegold without facetime for 2249 AED (41k INR).
It has a Redington sticker at the back.
Offcourse, warranty won't be valid in India but can someone post the link on how you can check if its warranty is valid in India.
SpaceGrey wasn't in stock so ill be buying it tomorrow if its in stock.

Look around in India man! My friends just bought the 6S, from local stores, 45k for 16gb rose gold, 54k for 64gb gold! The price difference is not worth loosing out on warranty.

Without FaceTime? How does that work. Isn't that a standard Apple feature that comes with every device? It's certainly on all my Apple devices?

Facetime is banned in ME and Dubai, hence all iphones sold there dont have facetime preinstalled.
I am not sure how do they deal with Skype and Android phones.

Apple has no comprehensive global warranty policy. Warranty applies to country of purchase. But if you are in another country, the Apple service center MAY repair your device, without any obligation to fulfill warranty. Its entirely up to them on a case to case basis.

Thank you for your input guys.
The terms and conditions did say that it is case to case basis. I guess if I buy it myself (Bill is on my name), I can say I relocated. In this case I do think they might honour it.

Regards
Rachit

For all guys buying an iPhone from ME,
I have purchased my iPhone 6s 64GB from souq.ae.
It has facetime and all possible functions.
Regarding warranty please note apple does not provide it on the iPhone outside your country of purchase.

Face time control in UAE is exercised not through the handset but by the carrier service providers. Thus users from UAE can still use FaceTime using VPN service

This is what i mentioned, such sites will sell non UAE handsets (don't know how they manage but these are imports is what i understand) which will specifically mention FaceTime active.
