Great that this asinine policy is finally in the gutter. No other Apple product ever had this policy. It was a hangover of the carrier lockdown days when the iPhone was available only with certain carriers. With the 4 they went full independent in most of the world, and this policy should've been revoked then.

Anyway, as far as Apple is concerned, they're getting the money for the product wether you buy from India or outside, and coverage should be honoured wherever the fault occurs.

some iphones last for just 2 years. My friends 6+ started having all sorts of issues, phone hanging, battery dropping from 50% to 25% to 3% in 15 minutes.
So beware. Let the greed not overcome reasoning :)

I got mine from flipkart for Rs 37250 (including 1750 HDFC card discount) during Diwali sale.
Are you suggesting one year old phone is already being sold as refurbished at Flipkart? I guess flipkart is authorised online seller for Apple in India.

It is not a refurbished phone for sure. I bought a IP 7 (silver for 38.5) from amazon during the first week of October sale. I sold my year old IP5s for 10k. I get a reimbursement of 15k from office (eligibility based).

This makes by spend to 13.5k for a brand new IP7 clap: couldn't ask for more!

I would like know if you folks purchased your iphones at a retail outlet physically or through e-comm sites such as amazon or flipkart. I am contemplating to get my hands on an iphone very soon. Would you suggest iphone 6s, 7 or 7+?

I have been purchasing through Flipkart since last few years. Since they are the official online partner, no issues when approaching stores for service under warranty :)

I would suggest get the latest model that you have in your budget, so pushing for an 8 is better that 7+. There are some cashback deals running make use of it and get it a great price online or at stores. iPhones do last for 2-3 years easily, so getting the latest model gives you an edge with future software upgrade support.

Paytm has been my preferred choice for 3 iphones purchased in the last year. Their price after cashback is unbeatable ( if you don't want to exchange anything). Else Amazon/Flipkart give decent buyback offers.

Check your model number (Settings->General->About). If it starts with "N" instead of "M", it is refurbished. You can also check the info on Apple website.

Yes it starts with M, I didn’t knew about this naming convention. Thanks.

That would be as follows.

M - Retail Model
N - Replacement Model
F - Refurbished Model

Just came to my mind, there was a news report sometime back wherein permission to sell refurbished phones was declined by Govt.

By this rule shouldn't the replacement models be new phones as well?

Never bought an iPhone online. But recently purchased 2 Mi Redmi Note 4 for parents. Just one advice, if u are paying in advance, have a video recording of the unboxing. If u choose cash on delivery, unbox it in front of the delivery boy. Sounds foolish but helps a lot.

I was not aware of this! If I may ask, what is the difference between Replacement Model and Refurbished Model?

Guys, software update is available. 11.1.

Hello guys, I updated to 11.1 and since then my phone does not connect to 4G. I am using Airtel. My wife on Airtel-SE combination on 10.3.3 gets full 4G signal at the same location at the same time.
Has anyone else faced this issue. Restart hasn't helped. Before the update I got 4G. Airtel pushes carrier updates for settings automatically.

No issues here on Vodafone. I am on 11.1
Call Airtel and ask them to send/push settings by sms. Save settings once received. Might work.
