Asus P527 has very little internal memory, so its very slow.
but the build quality is to good. If you not going to use more applications, its a nice phone to have.

I agree Asus phones generally have good build quality. Not sure about the internal memory part though.

hey i have been using the asus p527 for the past 4months.the phone looks classy and is good.however if too many applications are opened it slows down/hangs since internal memory is not too much.

the sound quality is decent but use it with the motorola snook headset and it rocks.also the camera is just 2mp and not the best.gps works fine.it has the option of uploading saved route maps from the phone to the net but i havent used that facility.i got a 1gb card free with the phone which had the inbuilt Satguide navigator but i havent used it.

i needed a pda with a keypad and fell in love with this phone.there are no major glitches in the phone.it does take a bit to start up though. overall iam happy with the phone.

Thank you guys for your response.
The price factor is in favour of the Asus 527 - HTC 3300 is costlier.
So let me decide.

I use P526 and have no issues so far with it. (as our frind phamilyman said, I am happy too with it's GPS function)

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/870960-post3276.html

P527 is the higher next model to 526 and comes with WiFi as well. One of my co-worker had it (unfortunately she lost it in second month itself) and the phone had no issues.

Camera is very poor in these phones and if it is a critical feature for you, drop Asus phones from your list. I wish they had made my phone camera-less instead of giving poorly functioning camera feature.

You did not tell which other mobile you have in the list and what prices you have been quoted.

i've chosen HTC 3300 and SE P1i alongwit the Asus ones. Asus is VFM but lacks resale value. Camera is not important to me as I seldom clicks with mobile - I use a digicam.

@Shyam
Pls tell me how is navigation in 526 without the joystick? Is it a pain? Also how is music quality?

hmm,

two koshuns:
a. What price are you getting p527 at?
b. What do you really desire in a phone besides a business type/PDA phone? is GPS necessary?

GPS though not absolute necessity - but would be an welcome feature as I'm not very well with the roads.
I've been quoted 14500 for Asus 527. Also i saw similar price on ebay - and I got 500 Rs discount voucher for ebay. So, it would cost 14000 if I purchase from ebay.
BTW anybody has experience buying costly items with ebay?

i didn't get mine yet.
Nikki's at Chandni told me that they don't have the stock but can get it if required. They quoted a price around 15,000/- for P527.
S.H. Mumtazuddin near Lalbazar have only P320 and quoted something around 12.5K. IMO the shop is charging more.
You can get an ASUS 526 at Indiatimes shopping for10,659 its the cheapest price.
