If you are ot on Windows phone 8.1, then follow this -
Settings > Ringtones+Sounds > last check box under that list - "All other notifications" Remove the check mark on this ! Voila, no more WhatsApp nuisance while in the office lol:
P.S. not noticed what other App gets muted while removing "all other notifications" Nothing that I have noticed apart from FB and WhatsApp. Facebook app notification was terribly erratic anyway, so not missing it.
Does updating to WP8.1 solve the music files auto replication issue?
I liked the windows phone, except for auto replication of music files and self deletion of music files. If this gets solved in this edition, I would be very pleased with windows phone.

I don't know what the problem is, try a soft reset (power + volume down until screen is black). Facebook Beta is what the name suggests it is i.e. the beta version of FB! It still is working, the other Facebook app stopped working, so I uninstalled it. I had kept the app just incase beta started malfunctioning. My region is set to US because I use Cortana.

Looks like that issue is completely fixed on 8.1. This issue was more prominent with devices with SD card and my wife's 620 and also my 920 do not have any issues with 8.1 music duplication. I have 700+ songs and didn't face any issues. Have been running 8.1 from day one of launch. :thumbs up
Anybody facing any glitches with 8.1? Or is it all smooth sailing? For me, YouTube is causing a bit of problem, had to soft reset twice, screen went berserk. Facebook app isn't working.
Facebook isn't as smooth for me too. I did a hard reset and set it up from scratch. But apart from that bits superb smooth.
I recently upgraded to 8.1 and it is smooth so far. For those listening to podcasts, the new podcasts app in 8.1 is really good.

After using WP8.1 for sometime now i have come across a few things / issues.
The FB People sync doesnt seem to work at all. It had messed up all my contacts but eventually i got around it and resolved the issue. But yet unable to connect my contacts with FB.
Another issue i have come across is that when i go into Photo's i see these albums
But when i wish to share some pics with someone in Whatsapp, & i go into Attach > Albums; I see this.
Is anyone else facing the same issue? In my earlier version of WP i used to see an album called WHATSAPP where as now i see it as "OTHERS"
Can other users please check in their phones how it is for them?

I have the same problem - I also have the mysterious "8" folder. I'm not sure if this is some issue in the way WhatsApp works, or WP itself works. I've not spent much time trying to understand what's happening, though
The 8.1 update has picked up another 'update' today:). Go to Settings->Check for updates and you'll see it there. No visible changes in the UI though. Microsoft has promised numerous bug fixes and enhanced battery life with this update.

The mysterious 8 folder is nothing but a photo folder which comes by default on Windows Phone given by Microsoft.

Yup. Got the update. Have not been able see any visible changes though. Have to check over the next week or so.
No update for my phone yet. Did the check update a few times but it says the phone has the latest updates. I wish the update improves WhatsApp performance.

Are you on Developer Preview? Then you should have got it.
WhatsApp performance is handled by WhatsApp team; not by WP updates.
I got the update. App for developer preview was missing from my phone. So all those who don't have this app, pls install it and you shall get the update.
