What brand is your digital music player?

Lets take a break from raving and ranting about automobilia. Many of us have strong opinions on the subject of listening to music. For some people, it is religion.

Since you all love music so much, have you invested in a good digital music player? Let others know what your choice is, and what made you pick what you picked ...

These days I am a fitness fanatic (read: I try to go jogging everyday). And jogging without music can be a mundane affair. So I decided to buy the latest whatchamacallit to satisfy my inner geek's desire for newer and superior gadgets.

I did a lot of research (but of course on Google. Where else?) and finally decided to go for the Apple iPod 20 GB hard disk based player. Not only is it the best-in-class, it also looks very sleek indeed! There's no way that Sony or iRiver can compete against the pod. Its absolutely marvellous. (The only complaint I have heard is poor battery life - but these reports are uncorroborated).

The iPod does cost a bomb in India - in the vicinity of 22K. So I had to wait for my London trip last week to buy it. Got it for 177 pounds. Now I am Happiness itself.

I got a cowon iaudio M3 20GB. Wanted to pick up an mp3 player and the ipod is too common nowadays. Did a little research on the net and found the reviews for the iaudio were excellent. It looks good, has excellent battery life, and most importantly the music is arranged in the regular file folder structure. So it makes it easier to browse the music.. atleast for me it does. I prefer this to the ipods system where i think it goes on the id3 tag and arranges it itself or something.

Also has radio and voice recording which is quite good.

Used the ipod too which is good , but i prefer this player. i suppose it all comes down to personal preference.

Archos Jukebox MM20. Playes videos too. Cost me 290$ way back in 2002. A bit bulky, but fits the bill

Yes, I saw the Archos too. But doesn't really fit snugly into the pocket. But its an amazing piece of circuitry. A "do-it-all" device.

Its not very pretty either, and fit and finish is not upto the mark, not to mention some niggling problems. Kinda reminds me of tata, not too polished, but value for money

I got my iPOD Mini some six months back ($176) and I am very happy about it. But then I got one more MP3 player just to use while jogging and gym activities , iPOD being a hard disc based player skips a lot during such movements. This time I got iRiver iFP 880 ($49 after MIR).

I am a die hard fan of Apple , I have iBook, macMini, Airport Express wireless router etc but still I must say , iRiver iFP 880 is far more superior when it comes to Sound Quality. While iPOD (or Apple) rulz in all other areas such as user interface, PC end software, design-n-build quality, technical support etc

I got myself an iPod Shuffle (1GB) ... Love it..
The only drawback is that there is no display on it. But no skips at all, and it also doubles up as a jump drive. It charges itself off the USB port

unfortunetly its battery cap is broken

if it works then serves my purpose & I really don't care what people think
