WD has launched a 1tb 2.5" Sata2 drive. Its not 9mm but rather 12.5mm in thickness with 5200rpm. This is meant for USB and SERVER-RACKS only. No laptop currently in production allows for a 12.5mm HDD.

If memory serves correctly Dell Xps M1730 does support 12.5mm HDD's, so one should be able to install two 1tb drives there but it is not in production anymore.

WD themselves will be making it available in USB flavour soon.

Cheers

What would be the best choice for a 1TB USB drive for personal use (mainly for data storage).
