i use the w550i... 1.3 mega pixel camera, 256mb built in memory (Not expandable). the music is mind blowing. i use the phone to browse at home & in office through bluetooth. the speed at which it connects is 115kbps, but the download speed is a max of 8-10k only, but sufficient enough for my use. t-bhp loads within 5 secs. that is good enough for me.

bought it in Feb 2006 for 14k with B&W. just yesterday, the phone's software has conked & i lost all my contacts. should have backed them up.:Frustrati

Bombay Guys any idea how much sony erricson P-990 i is avialble in grey market?

What's everyone's opnion on the Nokia 6708?

Guys, I would appreciate it greatly, if some of you could list Nokia and Sony Ericsson's models that are priced at 10K and a little under that.
Also, which of those models would make for a good VFM, have a sort of professional appearance, and other goodies.

Look forward to some replies.

Hi,

I recently gifted the same to my dad on his birthday. Whilst it is an excellent phone loaded with features I would not buy it for myself.

You get restricted and need 2 hands for almost all operations as the stylus is involved. Cannot use it single hand. My earlier phones were Nokia 6210,6310i and 6630(present). Planning to buy the Nokia E50.

Nokia: 6600, 3230, 6670
SE: z550i, w300i, w550i and if u can stretch to abt 11k - k750i
VFM phone: z550i-- expandable memory, 1.3 mp cam, fm, fundoo mp3 player, clamshell phone, 262k tft display. Plus it goes for abot 8.5k... add another thousand bucks for a 512mb memory stick

IMHO the iMate JASJAM (HTC Hermes) looks like a much better option than the P990i. I may get shot for this statement, but after having seen both devices I'm sold on the iMate - 3G, HSDPA, WiFi (b&g) plus sliding QWERTY keyboard. NICE, costs less than the P990i :Shockked: and does not require you to buy Sony proprietory accessories and peripherals. Does anyone want a sparingly used, well looked-after and fully updated Eten M600 ?

EDIT: MY APOLOGIES, BUT I'VE GOT THE PRICES MIXED UP. THE JASJAM IS SLIGHTLY COSTLIER THAN THE P990.

@steeriod how much is iMate JASJAM over there with and without bill ?

Hey Guys,
Just bought the new Nokia E50 in exchange for my Nokia 6630. At the onset I can say that the phoen is simply superb. Very light, slim and easy to use like all Nokia's. The controls/keys respond very well and is packed with features. This is a must for anyone who wants a good business phone.

Dont buy now - wait for the first lot of buyers to do beta testing before iMate releases the first ROM upgrade. THEN buy.

The Imate JasJam is similar to the Qtek 9600, O2 Trion, HTC TyTN, etc. All of these phones require either the keyboard to be slid out or pen input. Hence single hand phone operation is not as convinent as the P990.

For much is the jasjam avail over there ?

HTC Hermes sports a jogdial like in Blackberry. So single hand usage should be possible to some extent.

Also this device is identified to have a hardware glitch. Check this link: http://www.tracyandmatt.co.uk/blogs/...bug_identified

The HTC PocketPC phones are like cars from Tata. First they are shipped with lots of problems and the customers perform the testing. Then the issues are fixed with new ROMS over the time.

Does Microsoft have anythng to do with this instability. I notice they all use Windows?

I am guessing that MS makes their products unstable on purpose. Dont know why or how but it did make Mr. Gates very rich. :-)
