Need a phone within 2K budget.

I have narrowed down to 2 options Nokia 5030 Xpress radio and Nokia 2323 classic.

2323 classic has Nokia Seris 40 OS and bluetooth whereas 5030 has no bluetooth and Series 30 OS.

5030 Xpress radio is Rs. 1,900 and 2323 Classic is Rs. 2,100.

Which one should I get.

I use a Nokia 5800 for the past 9 Months. Wonderful phone. Once you start using this phone you would noy like to use a non touchscreen mobile. Probably you will keep jumping between the Touchscreen mobiles of different brands. Even though I am pretty much happy and satisfied with my 5800, I still cannot take my eyes off an Apple iPhone or a HTC Touch Diamond 2. Hand keeps Itching!!

Any idea about X7?

Hi ,

I am seeing lot of news for X7 & many sites says that it's one step after 5800. What is your opinion?

Hi Gang,

I have to buy a new mobile. The conditions are no camera (not allowed in office) and must have bluetooth and a mp3player ( thats for me ).

I do have a BB without a camera but its too bulky to carry and that too only to use that as a fone. I am looking at a cheaper alternative. So after surfing the net, I have narrowed down to Samsung E1410.

Any inputs on this ? or if you have any better fone thats currently available do let me know please.

JasonBourne : I like your pseudonym. I am a huge fan Robert Ludlum. perhaps we can start a separate thread on this

You can have a look at Nokia E51 & E60 without Camera and Sony Ericsson G700 (touchscreen).

It is actually X6. Indeed it is a Generation ahead than the 5800 coz it uses Capacitive Touchscreen which is the same as iPhone.

Also the screen is Hard Glass just like iPhon's so it is resistant to scratches.

Nokia X6 is the first capacitive Touchscreen phone from Nokia. But a big let down is that it uses the same Symbian Series 90 UI. Nokia is yet to come up with an OS dedicated to Touchscreens instead of modelling an existing one for touchscreens!

Its series 60, not series 90 in the x6. and yes, you're absolutely right. Symbian is not at all intuitive to use, though skinned ok enough to use with fingers. The problem with all of us is that we compare any touch phone and its os to that of the BIG I. Its a benchmark for most, and the most intuitive gadget to use on this planet. Symbian or even Windows mobile 6.5 on the other hand, is miles away! Maemo is a step in the right direction but its a wait and watch thing as to how it picks up, and how stable it is..

Request to @nokia: kindly do not release a half baked product with half cooked software. Once the reputation of a product Is ruined, its nigh impossible to get it back on the top of sales charts. A la n96 and n97.

Oops.. My Mistake!! it is Series 60 5th Edition.

The BIG daddy is always the BIG daddy! It brought a revolution to the market which was put on hold by the other companies. The others are still playing the catch up game!! We have to wait watch how Maemo performs.

Nokia has already losts its ground to other players in the High End market.

Because, the most predominant GPS provider in India is iNav through MapmyIndia. Since iNav currently does not have a tie up with Nokia for 5800 Navigation edition it is not available in India.

But expected soon.

I hope this translates to a crash in price of the E71! It currently retails for around 17K in Bombay in the better stores. I'm hoping it'll breach the sub-15K price point in a couple of weeks.
