siemens

lets see how benq holds up the quality which siemens stoods for,

most of the benq clamshells are siemens phones.

the name siemens from it's telecom brand is being replaced with benq all over, which should be completed in the next 30 days.

coming back to the nokia topic,

most of the nokia clamshells arent great except the cdma 6255.

nokia always had the best in candybar shapes.

for me the only clamshell models which i would choose were the motorola v3 or any of the samsungs range.

Aadix

MotoRazr V3's official price is 15000 now. Will contact you after I get my mobile back from the service center. On friday I received a mail from Nokia customer care. They will require another 48 hours before they can send me any further info.

hey dude, Nokia isn't all that bad. Its just maybe u were cheated or sumtin. The advantage Nokia has over most other phone models are that most of the nokia high-end mobiles support MMC's but there are comparatively few models which do in samsung, sonyericsson or motorola.

the thing is that most of the nokia clamshells dont have either external memory or cam or bluetooth. expect the 6255 cdma

thats one reason why they arent great in the clamshells.

the difference in a1010 Is not minor and the price range is gonna be the same.

motorola maked more clamshells but siemens has always been known for clamshells. they made good phones but sucked big time in marketing.(how many of you know about sx1 that could have beaten 6600 big time had siemens taken Indian market seriously??).I was a siemens fan too(sx1, s65) but now I wont ever buy a siemens(sxg75 is good though)

motorola is good at innovation but they loose out because they release too many models in a year and hence they get sorta a mixed image in the eyes of the consumer who is confused.btw have a watch for the motorola q though.!!

Sonyericsson and sharp are taking cautious steps and may make big in the near future. I dont hope much from benq-siemens now.

6600 I think has had phenomenal sales not only in India but across the globe. Siemens SX-1 was hardly a legend which you are making it to be..
for starters Man, could you use the key layout in that phone ?!?
I think the mclaren edition of SX-1 just made a damn good paper weight.

Cheers,
-Ajay

Yes used SX-1 Mclaren edition. The phone died down and would not power up AT ALL.
Got a replacement which again died down after a month or so.
Was not talking about the traditions here but was talking about the ease of use.

I have used a nokia n-gage, nokie 7610, nokia 7650, sonyericsson p900, p910i, siemens sx1. All of the above phones are symbian. None of them aheve been problem free for me. But I liked sx1 the best because of its feature set which was the most advanced at the time. A phone is a smartphone only if it hangs once in a week.

I may not ever buy a siemens again but for me sx1 was surely a gem of a phone.

I guess you are forgetting the N90 & 6260, both have cameras, bluetooth, rsmmc cards etc.etc.

I would never buy a Nokia clamshell, they have never really made a popular world beating clamshell. Samsung and Motorola lead in the clamshell arena.

I had a Motorola clam some time ago but the ribbon connecting the display in the cover needed replacing a few times so I went back to Nokia and bought a conventional mobile.

-Right, Clamshells simply not practical.
Over here in the US, people just tend to buy clamshell models.

Nokia just spent a whole lot of effort beating Motorola and others in the game and now they end up tryin to make clamshells.
The whole advantage in clamshells though is that they pack in enough features and a big screen in a considerably small phone.

i think the nokia care at hyderabad is the worst
and to add up that all the new models from which have been introduced are having problems
i and aadix went to buy 6630 for his sister on the last saturday
after satish anna and we both went for a indica tdi test drive
aadix knows the supplier for nokia in hyderabad scbad.
thus when we went to sindhi colony
these guys they were not advising us to take n3230 and n6670
but sadly i use (3230).
i was like literally searching for buyers for my fone
it has been troubling me a lot
till then i was thinking nokia is the best but i now i have the feeling to go for anything except nokia i dont mind lg also
boy i hate nokia
