Where did you read Quad Core?

....
Regards,

Read it on the landing page of Moto X, it is still there. At that point the detail specs were not available on Flipkart.

What they are referring to is the GPU (Graphics Processor) and not the CPU.

The CPU is a dual core Krait, while the Moto X has a third generation Adreno 320 Graphics chip with 4 cores. :)

My bad stupid:. Since the CPU cores weren't mentioned anywhere on the landing page I mistook the GPU core for the CPU one.

Recd a camera update today morning in my Moto G. Hope the random "Camera Error" issue is now taken care of.

Fingers crossed.

5V DC.

Sorry for my late response.

Hello Guys,

Just came across an App for the Android mobiles named DriveBy where it can be found in the Transportation segment.

The below description picked up directly from Google Play Store:

Quote:

Currently, DriveBy provides tools to:
  1. Share & discover traffic hot spots, police check posts near you
  2. Discover hand picked automotive service providers near you -- like service stations, car detailing, tyre dealers, spare part shops etc
  3. Keep up-to date with the latest news relevant to the Indian automotive scenario
  4. Help traffic police, of major Indian cities, by capturing and reporting traffic violations. These violations will be posted on the respective city traffic police facebook page after review. We are in talks with traffic police of major Indian Metros for this and have got the go ahead from few already
  5. Track and keep records of your fuel and service expenses
  6. Keep track of all the interesting automotive events -- including motorsports, exhibitions, off-road events, meetups.

Future plans include:
# Incorpporate authorized service center details for all major vehicle manufacturers across India, with their address & contact details.
# Ability to book service from within the app
# Provide information about emergency services, like tow trucks & ambulances across major Indian cities
# Provide benchmarking reports to users about their fuel consumption & fuel efficiency compared to other users.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

DriveBy needs the following permissions on your android device for the following reasons:
  1. Internet Access: To backup your DriveBy application data in cloud and deliver you relevant information
  2. Storage: To store a copy of your DriveBy application data locally
  3. Camera: To take pictures of your service bills and traffic violations
  4. Phone State: To get information such as screen size, device id/model, line number etc to create an unique DriveBy App id, appropriate user interface for you.
  5. GPS: To show you relevant service providers based on your location

DriveBy ##DOES NOT## collect any data about your contacts, nor does it read your SMS, Phone calls etc.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have just downloaded the App and yet to explore it fully. Just wanted to put it here so all here are aware and give their feedback on the same.

Problems I have faced so far:

1) The app stops working when launched for the first time after downloading;

Attaching a few screen shots of the App and the interface:

Home Tab:

Automotive News Tab:

Violation Reporting Tab:(The best feature I have seen in an App and will surely try this to see if it works)

Fuel data summary Tab:

Fuel Logger Tab:

I don't know if I should put this up here or belongs to other relevant thread, but...

More than games, I find books good to read. But if I try to purchase a book or even if it is a free one (they still ask for card details) I can't seem to either purchase or register myself for a free read.

They ask for either credit or debit card. I have debit cards only. After entering details, the message reads as - This credit card wasn't accepted. If you are sure all the information is correct, please contact your credit card provider.

One of my friend suggested to make an e-wallet on Google, but it says, this feature is not provided in your country.

Any help?

By an chance, is International Usage disabled on your card? I think some banks did that proactively.

hi folks,
any feedback on Motorola's service levels in India. Has anyone experienced their service recently? Considering they closed all company owned centers last year, and 3rd party centers, would it make sense buying a moto G?

The service centres were always operational. I have experienced pretty good service for my Atrix 2 at the Pune center although I had to wait for parts once. They were very liberal with warranty claims and once replaced my screen even though it was clear the phone had fallen !

My Father has expressed his desire for a smart phone, he will be moving from Samsung C-3322 which is a basic phone.

Budget within 10k, screen size not more than 4.0 inch, has to be branded, No windows phone.

I have shortlisted Galaxy S duos 2 and recently launched Sony Xperia E1. Moto G ruled out due to screen size.

Which of the above would be better ?

Can anybody suggest any other alternatives with above criteria ?

Most probably buying it tonight.

Hey, thanks :) I will check on that, but as soon as I click on to enter card details, it asks only for credit card.

Buy the galaxy S duos 2. It's a decent entry level smartphone for a first time user. It'll get your dad addicted to the world of smart phones. :)

Got my Moto g on 23rd, so after 2 days of usage, it performs brilliantly, kitkat is smooth as usual, camera isn't bad at all! Infact it took amazing photos during a recent trip to the mall. No lags, have installed about 30 apps(excluding built in apps) and always have 300+ mb ram free. Must thank h@r$h@l for helping me with the constant updates. I have one query though. I unplug my phone in the morning at 9 and about after 12 hours, the battery is at 10% with about 4-5 hours of screen on time. Is this an issue? Is there any app to monitor my battery usage and estimate its life over the day?
