Guys, just thought of sharing with you. The MI portable charger sold on shopclues is fake. My friend ended up damaging his iPhone cable because of it. In order to save a few bucks he ended up paying dearly.
Since we are talking about battery life here, can someone help me know if they have replaced the battery for Nexus4/5 or 7 tablet?
It is not user replaceable AFAIK, if anyone has done it, please let me know the details. It will come handy once my N5 starts acting up.

This is really odd. I have a note 3 and have a been noticing this for the last week or so. Cleanmaster has constantly been complaining about Facebook, that could be the problem. Its also been heating up a lot more during charge and normal usage also. |
+10. I had the same symptoms on my nexus 4. I heeded the call of clean master and uninstalled facebook, the battery life improved n device cooled down. Hope they fix this issue on facebook app, sooner than later.

The Facebook app for Android has long been regarded as one of the most resource hogging apps ever made.
I would recommend using the browser to log into Facebook, much better than using the app.

I used to use the phone as an alarm clock, so the display would be on, albeit very dim, all through the night. I still use the alarm, but not the display. |
The phone can even be switched off and the alarm will still work. Applies to all phones, I think. I normally set the alarm and switch the phone off, though mine are not smart phones. Anyone calling on an emergency basis will have to come on the land line. If someone does not have my land line number, they are not supposed to call me at night!
Quick question to the Gurus-
If I were to ask for a phone, within 8-12k INR, and does just 4 things very well; what would that be?
1. Outstanding Camera quality (particularly indoors)
2. Outstanding Call quality
3. Legible and clear display with decent touch response
4. Strong Build quality
Preferably an Android, over any other! :)
Experts,
Need help here. A couple of my office colleagues recently lost their Nexus 5 to flinchers while they were on a cricket ground playing. The moment my friends realized this, they tried to call but in vain as the phone came as switched off. Now we know the power button when pressed continuously would allow the option to power off. In such conditions is there any app or other safety measure which when the phone falls into wrong hands wouldnt be able to powered down so that if the original owner is trying to contact the phone, it should keep ringing?
I tried with my Asus Zenfone 5 to power down when the phone is locked and it does allow to power down the device.

There are various security apps such as Avast Anti Theft through which you can remote wipe all the data on the phone, track the location of the phone through GPS and also activate the theft alarm. I had this on my older samsumg android phone but not sure if its a fool proof security measure to locate the phone. Someone can wipe/format the phone before its tracked, I guess.

Thanks. From what I have seen so far:
Xiaomi Mi3 - Not sold any more. Fails Camera criteria.
Moto G - Barely passes Camera criteria.
Any other options?
We already have 3 Asus devices at home (Zenfone 5,6 and Fonepad), so want to try something from a different stable this time around.

In this price you are being unreasonable for what you want! :D
How about a used Nokia 1020 or Lumia 920 et al?
How has your experiencewith the ZF5 been?

Demanding Customers help drive product innovation and cost efficiencies. :D
Used phone for my Mom? No Thanks!
I use the ZF6 and my wife ZF5.
ZF5 occasionally and completely randomly mutes itself (
a bit hard to replicate in front of service center guys).
ZF6 is lovely, except that it isn't clash of clans friendly. My 8-9 hour long continuous sessions of CoC leave it very hot, and of course, it needs to be plugged to the mains, in that duration!

S3 neo is the only one in that range that comes with a decent camera. S3 + Touchwiz is not a good combination, but am hoping it is better since the Neo has half a gig of RAM more.
Planning to upgrade from the Moto G to another android for want of a much better camera and more storage or option to add more storage (64GB compatible). Extremely disappointed with quality of photos from recent trip.
Budget is 20K, but as less as possible. Is the One the only decent option with stretching the budget by another 2K or is there anything else worth the money?
Not too keen about Samsung, but if the S4 is worth the salt then I'm in.
