You are right the G2 does have a 5" screen. I got it mixed up with another phone that I was using prior to it.

The G2 is a great phone functionally but is very plane jane. If staid looks do not deter you go right ahead.

Last week I started looking for a 15K replacement for my 2 year old phone, and today bought a 25K replacement for my wife's one year old phone.stupid:

Quest for my phone is still on, mostly Moto G2.

How do I activate MIRACAST on my Moto G or the better half's Moto G2 so that I can connect it to my LG TV? Or am I missing something here:what: BTW what is the use of cast screen? TIA

The 'cast screen' option you see on the phone is actually a toggle to mirror your display using a Chromecast.

The stock Moto ROM does not have an option to use Miracast.

However, the hardware is there, so if you want to use Miracast you can do so by rooting and installing an app that can be found on XDA.

Thanks everybody, I just ordered the Samsung Galaxy S5 16GB for ₹25,682.

It was delivered today at 10:51AM. That is only 10 minutes more than 24 hours, acceptable for free delivery I suppose.:D

It came with Android 4.4.2, now downloading the next update.

Edit: Got updated to Lollipop.

Just upgraded my htc Sprint One (m7) to 6.23.651.6. The download was 312.0MB. Went Uber smooth and the installation took about half an hour (they stated about 45 minutes). Android is still 5.0.2 and Sense 6.0. No software or settings lost.

Whatsapp calling seems to have got activated on my phone on my wife's tablet. We tried it and the call quality was horrible.

I tried on Wi-Fi and 3g. It was fantastic!

It's pretty useless on Indian mobile data connections, except broadband wifi maybe.

I still prefer Hangouts for the occasional casual VOIP call.

On 4G it works as seamlessly as a regular cellular call!

Happy to know that however with such a poor implementation of 3G network in North I have my doubts on 4G as well!

Whatsapp voice calling...

Well, unless it was trying some crazy routing, wife and I were both in the house and both connected to wifi!

Interesting that Skype withdrew from the domestic to domestic video call market. There were rumors that they did not want to agree to GoI demands for full access etc.

Whatsapp, Viber Line etc must have agreed to them.

You must be a preferred magna carta platinum customer or something:). Most areas I'm in Bangalore can barely hold 3G signal consistently, forget 4G.
I tried it on the office network with another colleague on wifi and it worked OK.

:uncontrol

Ok, this falls into my professional domain (IP telephony). Even though you both were in the same local network, the media gateway/proxy is remote. Unless Whatapp enables a feature called IP shuffing, your call will go all the way to the whatapp server and come back. It is not some crazy routing, but very normal routing for a VOIP call. Unless the media gateway has direct visibility to the endpoints (your devices), it can't use IP shuffing. Since your devices were behind your home router, the calls will be routing via whatsapp media gateway.

I got the 5.1 update on my Nexus 5 two days ago and the phone's become a wee-bit faster since the update. Lag that was present with the 5.0 update is now gone.

Most importantly, the biggest issue, memory leak seems to have been fixed. My phone's system RAM usage is no longer more than apps and I have about 1 gb of ram free always.

I also notice a marginal improvement in battery life too. A year and a 3 months since I bought it and i'm very happy with the performance.
