Hey guys what can be a good upgrade from LG v20? My budget is under 50k. I'm a bit skeptical about the v30 because of the image retention issues on my v20. |
Pixel 2 XL would be my recommendation.

Just a quick update on my HTC U11. The bad news? My device seems to have had the ghost touch issue. No problem for touch typists but swipe fast on the keyboard and it goes haywire :|
That aside, the camera remains owner's pride, neighbor's envy. Here's a shot tonight from a cousin's marriage. It left other phones scurrying for cover. |
This photo was taken with the stock camera app? Photo does look good!
Here's one from my gallery - Not sure if it's the google camera app or the stock HTC camera app.

Fantastic. What a lovely photo!
While the 1+5t gets a lot of recommendations, I havent seen similar photos by that device, taken by common folks :)
Let's hope it makes a few folks consider this lovely device :)

I just moved to the Note 8 – traded in the V20 for a iPhone X for wifey and took her Note 8 which is just 3-4 months old. I was also thinking of the V30+ as an option initially but dropped the idea of LG due to the quality issues with the V20 – screen ghosting, getting painfully slow offlate, and also poor battery.
I would recommend the Note 8 or the Pixel 2 XL.

It's a great device for the price. More like an all-rounder. HTC fan following is quite less in India. People prefer one plus and other brands over it but that's okay. I am happy with my phone for sure! :)
^^^I do not take much photos from phone. However here is an image taken recently with my 1+5t.
While it isn't great, it acceptable (to me) for social media upload.

Even i kept looking for other options to replace my v20. But the fear of losing the quadDAC and the wide angle cam has me holding on to the v20 for a few more days.
Turning a blind eye to the screen ghosting is hard but not impossible.
And the LED on the v30 should not cause ghosting one hopes.
Samsung S8+ is under 50k now. It's a very good phone and should feel like an upgrade over the V20.
Another contender for me would be the Huawei P20 pro. It looks like the best camera phone out there is.

Well, the V30 has both the qadDAC and wide and wide angle lens. And i think the screen ghosting issue is not present. But at 45k it is the best bet since the Pixel 2 XL, Note 8 all costs north of 60k. And no point switching to iOS since i already have an iPhone.
Hope Lenovo K8 plus is a good phone for a first time user. Mom needed to use WhatsApp and this phone would be used solely for this. Dad has it in his phone for more than 2 years and it is us (me and wife) who check his messages, LOL. Similar thing would happen, still..

Looking at the feedback on the internet, I ordered K8 Plus yesterday on Flipkart for my daughter. She dunked her last phone (a 3 months old Zuk Z2 Plus) a few days back and killed it. Hope the K8 Plus at the least lasts for couple of years.
Lenovo K8 plus had an issue with log files consuming storage. It was fixed via OTA updates. Make sure you install all the system updates before you setup the phone for use.
Also, the portrait or depth mode in the camera takes long time to process and save the photos.
Apart from this, it's a good budget phone.

Thank you for the valuable inputs. I will ensure the same.
Got the phone and switched it on, an update was required as soon as I switched it on. Post update, find the phone to be super responsive and fluid. Phone looks and feels good. Currently [mom] is using it without a sim, will get a 4G sim though at 99% of times, it would be connected to a broadband.

Dear phamilyman,
These are the shots that I have managed to capture in the night time with One Plus 5T So Far. I felt they came excellent.
The Last pic is for blurring lovers.clap:

Sure - nice shots indeed. But my interest is in low light shots, say in restaurants that have dim lighting. Happy to see those and be proven wrong - but I have seen a 1+5T fail in that very situation.
