Guys, need some help. Was looking to buy the Oneplus 7 Pro - comes to around 35,600 here - which is a good deal. However, it is the 128 GB one. 256 is out of stock. I did have a chance to check it hands on when I was travelling in India last month. Loved the phone except for that curved screen - esp when watching full screen videos?
I currently have a Honor View 10 - I might even get around 150 dollars if I sell it.
Basically the question is - is the OP 7 Pro worth it?

Curved screens are a bit of love it or hate it feature. Full screen content and ghost touches at edges while holding the phones could get really annoying for some people (was for me when I checked out my options recently).
If the higher screen resolution and the pop-up selfie cam aren't must-haves for you, you could look at the 7T (if available on your carrier in US). You'll get the 256 GB variant for similar prices.

Yeah the curved screen was a bit of a letdown for me honestly.
And yes, even the 7T Pro. That looks like a beast of a device. Maybe wait for that to turn up here on some deal.

Android 10 Samsung one UI 2 got updated on my Samsung Galaxy S10+.
Couple of niggles, I found :
- The "back" navigation (swipe in from left/right of the screen), does not work well in some apps like where there are maps (e.g. QuickRide).
- Location is getting on on its own somehow, not able to figure out how.
- Google Handwriting Input is not working. This is a big bummer for me, as I use it for my Japanese learning :-(. This has been reported elsewhere also.
My One Plus 6T got updated to Android 10 yesterday. To my surprise, I noted today that the 3 bank apps that I use failed to recognize the device or should I say, recognized the device as a new one. I was automatically logged out of the apps and had to re-register to access them.

You can individually select location settings for every app now. What surprised me was that almost all apps I have, had location permission and that too for all the time. I changed most of them.

Happened to me too. Bank app got deregistered, and had to get it registered again.

Apparently this is a new privacy feature:
Quote:
Restrictions on hardware identifiers - Android 10 will restrict apps from knowing the IMEI or Serial number of your device. These are device identifiers and can be misused for illegal activities like IMEI spoofing. Instead, app developers will now have to use other resettable device identifiers, unless otherwise approved by Google, your carrier, or your organisation (in case of enterprise devices). Additionally, devices that run Android 10 transmit a randomized MAC addresses (a unique number that identifies your device) by default. These changes help keep your digital identity safe.

This is probably why some apps are now popping a warning they'll access my IMEI and need me to approve, when they previously didn't. OnePlus Care, for example.
Had bought the Google Pixel 3a in Oct 2019 for the wife. The phone was running fine till last week, but all of a sudden the battery started draining inexplicably fast once charge fell below 50%. Like 30-40% down in 5-6 minutes. The phone would then switch off by itself, and would restart only after being charged up to 75-80%.
Today the phone has switched off twice, once when battery was at 73% and then again at 50%. Phone is running on Android 10. Have been using only iOS for the last 7 years, so these kind of issues are new to us.
What could be the reason for this issue, and if need be, what options do I have to get the phone replaced?

That looks like a battery gone past it's life. Please get it checked at a service center. As far as replacement is concerned, that depends on from where you purchased it.

The phone is hardly 3 months old, so battery degradation doesn’t seem a possibility.
While I bought the phone from Flipkart, why does it matter in case of replacement?

Pixel user here.
I'd advise trying booting it up in safe mode once and then see if it drains the battery.
If it does, it's a hardware issue
If it doesn't, it's some app or software that needs to be checked
Hello BHPian
This is my first post on this thread. I currently own an iphone 6S that my wife threw at me after kidnapping my OP6T (excellent phone). I don't feel like using an iphone and was in lookout for a not-so-expensive (under 20k) kind of android phone. Also, don't want to go for a Chinese brand (no offence to anyone, just don't feel like) in this price bracket. After a brief search on available options, i ordered an Galaxy M30s on Amazon this morning. I am not a very heavy user. Just the daily stuff like Facebook, whatsapp, emails etc. I think M30s is perfect for my use case.
The only reservation that i have is around android auto. I am not sure if AA will work fine with M30s, just the way it did with my OP6T. Any M30s users here who have used AA ? AA is important for my use case and i don't want to compromise on that. Any first hand experience will be comforting.

I am a OP5 user for the past 2+ years and purchased it on the day of launch in the US. I travel to the US and EU almost every month and AA was very important for me. However after the pie upgrade AA has stopped working for me on all rental cars. Have tried it on atleast 10+ models including Mercedes, Volvo and many of the Japanese and American models. It has not worked at all and am now resigned to use the phone display for navigation and audio via Bluetooth to the stereo. Frustrating till I change my phone. I tried the usual Uninstall, cache clear, development mode etc but it didn't help. There is one final setting that I need to change via pc only on the phone that I have not been able to do yet. This has been a very frustration 6+ months for me. What I am trying to convey is that even if your 6T or M30s works well now with AA, it may not in a future build.

A70 is currently selling for Rs.23300. Throw in another 5% for card offers you should be getting it for Rs.22500. You cant go wrong with this at this price point. I have been using this for past 10months, its a decent phone.
