I presume you must be having single sim model. In that case first update the firmware of your S20FE+5G.
If you have dual sim model then after updating the firmware ensure that your Airtel Sim is in slot 1.
I hope this works for you.

Working perfectly for me. Getting upload speeds of around 300 Mbps inside my north Bangalore home. Download speeds are pathetic though, around 20mbps max.
Ensure the airtel sim is in sim slot 1. Also, ensure 'power saver' is off. if power saver is on, 5g network does not get selected.

Have been able to use 5g both on my Airtel SIM as well as Jio. Airtel for couple of months now and Jio since 2-3 days back when they sent a MSG that Jio Tru 5G is enabled for me. Interestingly the Jio is in the SIM 2 slot. Still works. I somehow has the impression that 5G would work only in the SIM 1 slot.

Using a One plus 7 pro since 2019. Would like to upgrade/ downgrade to a smaller display phone, which can be used by one hand.
Current phone keeps crashing while using launcher, gallery is terribly slow, camera quality has deteriorated over time.

Requirements are
1. Smaller phone size.
2. Budget of ~50k to ~ 60k.
3. Decent performance and battery life.
4. Decent camera.
5. Preferably android, would not mind switching to iOS if android has no great options.

Please guide me through the current available ones.
I have been looking at S series (samsung) and iphone mini. But unable to finalise on a particular model.

Thanks in advance!

For this budget S22 should be good, I think even the upcoming S23 may also qualify. Otherwise IPhone 13 should also be a very good choice.

Google Pixel 7 will be a great option. Samsung S22 also would be good. But maybe wait for the announcement of S23 in early Feb and see how that one is priced.

If leaning towards iOS, regular iPhone 13 maybe a good option, the 13 Mini doesn't cut well on the battery side.

S22 has a smaller battery size. It may not last full day.

I agree on iphone 13 with the current ongoing offer you could get it for 60k.

Will be hassle free for next 4 years atleast. Only thing you will be missing is the telephoto lens compared to pro models.

Yes battery might be a concern for heavy users for the S22. Let's see how the S23 looks this year.
I have the S21plus and that is a monster. Doesn't seem to end howsoever much I use it ( my use is primarily twitter, tbhp, chrome) not into gaming or even videos that much. No Facebook or the likes.

I agree with others that pixel 7 should be a great choice altogether among smaller phones. Google had lot of SW issues with pixel 6 so hopefully they have resolved them in this iteration.

This is true. I used the S22 for around 6 months (before moving to iPhone 14 Pro), and daily quick shot of charge was required by around late afternoon. Otherwise quite a sweet device to use.

Double checked once again. My Airtel Sim is on slot 1 (memory card is on slot 2). Power saver has always been off.

Not sure what I am missing. Maybe non availability in my area specifically. I am put up in Kadugodi, Bangalore.

Can someone recommend a screen protector for Pixel 7 which actually works well with the pathetic in-display fingerprint sensor?

I got one from amazon and it simply doesn’t work even after enabling screen protector mode in the settings.

OpenTech® Tempered Glass Screen Protector Compatible for Google Pixel 7 with Edge to Edge Coverage and Easy Installation kit https://amzn.eu/d/0J94H90

It’s amusing how Google can’t get even the basics right for their flagship product.

This worked for now but how practical is this ?

However it has been a trouble with S22. The maps don't appear and unlike the U11 there doesn't seem to be a separate app for Android Auto. It keeps asking to switch on the GPS when it is already on.

Does anybody know a solution for this?

Check if Gmaps is not added to deep sleeping list. Settings > Device care > Battery > Background usage list > Deep sleeping/ Sleeping lists. I had similar issue in my phone when both Android auto maps & RE Tripper apps wouldn't work properly when maps was in deep sleeping state

Any suggestions for entry level 5g phone? I would prefer to have less "clutter" i.e extra layer of "features" over stock Android provided in MIUI, Samsung OS etc.

Looks like Redmi Ax series no longer upgraded, Moto G65 5g looks like a candidate, Have used G5, Don't have experience of Oppo, Vivo, Poco etc. but open to explore.
