It's gonna be even faster than 2.2, which offered a huge performance boost on its own thanks to a just-in-time compiler for Dalvik, the virtual machine layer Android executes apps in. Android 2.3 adds a concurrent garbage collector the Dalvik VM, which Google says "minimizes application pauses, helping to ensure smoother animation and increased responsiveness in games and similar applications."
5 Reasons We're Excited About Android 2.3 Gingerbread
I'm getting me some Gingerbread! On my NexusONE...
^^ i am waiting for the update to show up on my nexus one as well. I hear dec 16th :-)
Glad that I don't have to jump to nexus S yet !
Now I think I made the mistake of buying a Legend instead of the Nexus One looking at what N1 users are enjoying! Here I am still stuck on 2.1!

I used to sync my Phone contacts on my E70 with Outlook 2007 frequently using PC Suite. After i got my SGS, I exported all those contacts to a CSV file and imported them to the google contacts ( http://www.google.com/contacts ) . Once your contacts are on Google, you can configure your SGS to display them. And whenever you create a new contact, create it as a google contact. |
Hi,
My HTC wild fire had a very cool option.(i think it was Transfer data)
Using Bluetooth it transfered all my contacts from my Nokia 9300 in 2Min Max.
The best option i have ever seen.

I never saw a Android phone with Dual SIM.
you may need to wait a few years before such a thing is launched.

Or wait for Indo-Chinese phones to come up with Android - like Fuzitel, Airfone, Lava etc.

oho,
then please advise in my case,
I use two mobile, one cdma and another gsm.
I need a handset and i am opting for dual sim so that i don't need to carry two phone.
As 3G services are going to be started within next month, naturally i should go for a dual sim + 3g phone.
As per posts in this thread, android is best OS, so i am looking for dual sim+ android 3g.
As there is no phone available in the market with my requirement, what is best option for me,
1] should i wait for some time?
2] go for andriod available in market with single sim and carry two handset?
3] go for samsung duaos dual sim and forget about 3G service?
4] any more option?

How do I copy the contacts from E71 to SGS?
Thanks in advance. |
Best way of copying contacts from Symbian to Android:
1. Copy all the contacts to E71 memory card and then copy to a PC
2. Copy all those contacts to Google Contacts
3. Sync your andorid to google contacts
AND ITS DONE.... :D
i tried the same for my X10 and its one of the ways of doing it along with keeping a backup of your contacts... :)
One more Android phone, now available - Motorola Zepplin Xt5.
