Introducing Xperia

Key features

Xperia go
...
Xperia acro S
...

Looking at the features and current pricing of the Xperia range, they might price the Acro S at par or even higher than the S. The X go might be in the vicinity of the U.

Any idea whether they'll be coming to India or not?

Unrelated query tsk, but I noticed you use a Note, hence asking.

Have you got Outlook calendar (on your PC) sync to Note working ?
If yes, please share how.

I am unable to get this working via Kies.
And am reluctant to go the gmail way.

Thanks

lazy

I simply setup the outlook account in "accounts" add account. My company gave me the exchange server address, and everything else was automatic

Hmm, this may be a strange request. But I need this for my work. I want my CM7 phone to work with TTY enabled services. TTY is a phone service for deaf people. When you call a TTY enabled number, you get the reply in TTY text instead of voice. Your phone should be capable of interpreting the tones and display the text. This is a common enough service in USA.

How to enable this on my Defy? Is there any phone app I can download and use?

I am using Motorola Razr XT910. I am not satisfied with the performance of the camera. Is there any app I can use which can enhance the captures? I have tried Instagram and other handful of applications. They help in editing the captured image. But if the captured image is not of good quality, these software don't help much. So is there anything I can do improve the quality of the pictures? Appreciate any help.

Hmm, seems like only I am facing this issue ( among Note owners at least). Googled it and couldn't find many posts on this. Guess I need to check what's going wrong. The battery usage shows Voice calls to be the primary cause but my calling pattern has not changed much. So I doubt that could be the actual reason.

Even I am facing the same issue after upgrading to ICS. My galaxy notes drain out in half a day where it used to say whole day with 40% still remaining at the end. I have disable most of the update, still the same issue. If u go to battery usage call is the prime user where as my user pattern has not change. Please let me know if any of you find solution to the problem

Try Fxcamera. I have used it in the past, lots of options to tweak/adjust. Might be useful.

Hey guys, I am new to this Android thing, so please bear with this noobish question.

How do I prevent the apps in my phone from auto updating? Also I would like to be notified of updates, but I would like to choose when to download and install them. (Just like the option in my computer's Windows Update )

This is so that I can keep my EDGE connection active all the time, but I would like to do the downloads over WiFi, since I have a very limited data plan.

Phone is the HTC Explorer.

I guess there is an option when you download and install apps from Play store. You must uncheck the Automatic Updating option in there.

For applications already installed, you may check out Play Store settings.

I was mainly referring to the Google apps like Gmaps, Play store itself, etc.

Thanks for the info. Will check it out. :)

Xperia go
  • Launching on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), upgradeable to Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich)

This will definitely be my next phone. :thumbs up

Only one catch, why would it come preloaded with GB even though it is expected in Q3 (Sony's Q3 generally means early Q4) ?

A front facing camera would have been great too, but I guess we can live without it if the phone is priced competitively.

I'm so relieved that Sony is providing slot for expandable memory in the new models, unlike Xperia U, P and S. What the hell were they smoking ? :Frustrati

I think this is because they are launching too many models at the same time. Also, they are busy providing ICS updates for all 2011 phones too.

At 1/3rd the screen resolution of Defy? What are they thinking?
