Is there anyway i can download google Maps for offline usage for whole india or say for a complete state. I know i can cache them on my tab by planning a route but that requires a constant internet connection while i am caching. Once i am on road without internet, i cannot do any thing. Hence the idea if there is any tweak, so that i can download all the google maps on tab and use them without having to worry about internet via 3 G or wifi .

any ion users here?
or any phone with a metal back?
Are you able to feel the battery heat up?

My battery monitor gives me a temporary of about 40 degrees after about 15 minutes of online gaming.
Sony has mentioned that its alright upto 55, which seems quite a bit.
I never checked the temperature on my x10 as it was plastic backed,so maybe this is okay, and I am just feeling it for the first time, but would still like to know.

Nokia C6-01 with Metal Battery Cover. Talk for more than an hour & a half or so and it will heat up like anything :Frustrati. and then due to this the battery life got sucked to a great extent.

Got a pleasant surprise on the Nex just now. OTA update for 4.1.2, 15mb odd. Update took less than 5 mins, apps, data everything intact. Any of you guys upgraded?

I was on the factory image 4.1.1 earlier.

how to do the above..?

Press Menu -> Make available/offline setting is visible. You can save max of 85 MB of map. If its not enough you can select other/adjacent area to make the whole city available. When I downloaded the whole Pune city it took around 40 MB.

To be honest, I don't see any improvement. Nex is quite a beast anyways! :) It's not a major update I guess. Maybe 4.2 will be. Tried to find out what has changed specifically in 4.1.2 and all I could find was 'better, improved performance etc'. Oh, and someone did mention that its now possible to expand the notifications with just one finger instead of the earlier pinch kind of way, haven't verified it yet.

F150, If you are already on 4.1.1, I would say you aren't missing much. But, if you do want to upgrade, Google has released the factory images https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images. You can flash it via fastboot.

Naah. I will wait for the OTA update. Better Performance is good.:D

Got upgraded now. Nothing new that's noticeable at the moment. Will have to check for any new features. Upgrade hardly took 5 mins over wifi.

I think you will get the phone cheaper at your friendly mobile phone walla.
It all depends on your bargaining skills.

Recently a colleague picked up a Karbonn phone for 7.5K where as the lowest price was 7.9K and flipkart price was 8.2K.

Please try that option as well.

If I am not wrong your colleague bought Karbonn A 7 which was retailing at 8.2 k, now the same retails at 7k in flipkart.

I think that once the price are reduced by the company online portals are a bit slow in doing so.

Never the less it was a decent deal when your colleague bought it.

Galaxy Nexus (White) for 21.4K, with 1 year Dealer warranty - Is it a good deal folks?
