I have started using Airtel 4g at home from the past one week, download speeds are in excess of 10 MBPs and uploads are at 2MBPs.

However images, especially from team-bhp cannot be viewed on any browser!

Can someone please help?

Thanks in advance!

Check out Lava Xolo A700, with all the specs of A110 but with 4.5' IPS screen with more pixel density. Super slim and lightweight phone.

Is it normal for Android phone alarms to not work when the phones are switched off? Or it is a problem with my phone only?

CES 2013 @ Las Vegas - Lots of interesting gadgetry being revealed!

Samsung Window
Sharp 8K(:Shockked:) TV among many other 4K TVs
E-Ink flexible displays
FireFox Mobile OS (HTML 5 based)
Portable big displays (Battery operated)
Tegra 4 GPU
Wireless speakers
Protective panels for smartphones which make them scratch err... no, shatter proof!
Wireless charging,
Intel mobile processors for smartphones (Android demo phone)
and the list goes on!

Ubuntu Phone was shown - They used a Samsung Galaxy Nexus on which the Ubuntu mobile OS was demoed.

Our company has a stall, which looks so humble compared to all the electronic innovations shown there!

What all do you get for Rs8235:

1.5GHz dual core snapdragon processor
1GB RAM
5MP camera with flash
4inch AMOLED screen
Android ICS 4.0.4
4G LTE (useless in India as of now)

Got the phone yesterday, rooted, removed all AT&T apps, installed nova launcher. Phone is super snappy!

How was your experience with the shopping? Do you have to use CC or Netbanking is also avialable? At 82** it seems a steal. Also are there any custom ROMs available on this device?

It is normal. In android you cannot switch off the phone when alarm needs to function as we used to in Nokia.

You can keep phone on flight mode during night time and alarm will function perfectly.

No chance :Shockked: Between, why you want to change? I am happy with the stock JB on this device. Super smooth.

Not that I am unhappy with the current OS. But I want to try out the custom ROM's. Maybe will try out cyanogen, but the nightlies have an update daily. Also some issues with calling feature. So will wait for somewhat stable release

I bought a flip cover for my One V but just noticed that it doesn't have the speaker grill opening and now shopkeeper is refusing to take that back.

Will that cause any problem for speaker of the phone?

I keep my phone in vibration mode almost all the time and play music etc only using headphones. Only the alarm uses the speaker.

These are few budget contenders:

1. iBall Andi 4.5H: 1 GHz dual core processor running ICS OS with 1GB RAM, 4.5 inches with qHD resolution i.e. 960×540 pixels, Pixel Density: 244.77 PPI

2. Karbonn A9+: 1 GHz dual core processor running ICS OS with 512 MB RAM 4 inch TFT, 480 x 800 pixels, Pixel Density: 233 PPI, SAR: 0.66 W/kg (head)

3. MMX A110: 1 GHz dual core processor running ICS OS with 512 MB RAM 5 inch, IPS LCD, 480 x 854 pixels, Pixel Density: 196 PPI, SAR:0.68 W/kg (head)

4. Lava Xolo A700: 1 GHz dual core processor running ICS OS with 512 MB RAM, 4.5 inch IPS, 960 x 540 pixels, Pixel Density: 245 PPI, SAR: GSM 900: 0.59 W/Kg, GSM 1800: 0.55 W/Kg, UMTS 2100: 0.67 W/kg 9000

5. Pantech Burst – Supports only micro SIM: 1.5 GHz Dual-core Scorpion processor running ICS OS with 1GB RAM, 4 inch, Super AMOLED, 480 x 800 pixels, Pixel density: 233 PPI

6. Spice Stellar Virtuoso MI-495: 1 GHz dual core Snapdragon processor running ICS OS with 512 MB RAM, 4.5 inch TFT LCD, 960 x 540 pixels, Pixel Density: 245 PPI

i'm planning to get the a110 but most shops i see don't offer a demo.
it is a vfm phone which came into consideration as i don't want to burden a nonprofit whose work i do on voluntary basis. it has become necessary to get a number for their sake. I have not "yet" used an android.

Does the lesser pixel density let down although it's not too less?

What about build quality?

how is the user interface?

what about rooting and updates?

Could not find anything bad about it written anywhere on the net. Any view points on the above as i noticed a few users here and is generally recommended.

thanks

If you have been using a S2, S3, iphone or high quality screens, yes it will feel like a let down. Other wise, a fantastic display the size as big as the note.

What about build quality?
If not better, matches samsung phones.

how is the user interface?
Comes with ICS. JB Updates are possible. Its a fully loaded stock 4.0.4. Not the vanilla JB but close to it.

what about rooting and updates?

Thats why they are called nightlies! :)

Look into an app called cyandelta (https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...eWFuZGVsdGEiXQ..)

It lets you download just incremental changes so you don't have to download the 100+ MB ROM over and again.

Purchase experience was surprisingly very good! Ordered phone on Thursday evening and got the phone by Wednesday morning!

Phone box was opened. Presumably phone was powered on once for unlocking the phone. I got it unlocked else probably have to spend 5$ to get the unlock code.

Looks like iBhejo have already got the phones with them and now selling them rather import from the USA on a case by case basis.

Anyways, used the phone today. Battery lasted 12 hours with 3G on and full sync on all the time. 30 minutes of talktime and 1 hour os heavy browsing included. Battery life is average at best, but this much of backup is enough for me.

Still struggling with it on my s3.

my S3 is doing great :). I have the US version (Dual core, LTE, 2 gb of ram). I did a factory reset after receiving my update from Verizon and its running great. Battery life is on par with ICS now. :thumbs up . I would really suggest everyone to do a factory reset.
