Getz New Launch + Getz vs Swift..

Any leads to the Hyundai Getz new model launch in India? Since it's european facelift in 2005, when do we expect it in here?
I am considering a purchase pretty soon. Should I wait?

I also need a genuine advice & comparisons on Getz and Swift.
Which of the 2 are better in terms of space, comfort, driving pleasure and maintenance costs? I somehow donot like the looks of Swift, but still need a comparison for open-options.

Thanks !!

space, comfort - Getz
driving pleasure - Swift. That dosent mean Getz is bad, its only that the Swift is a little more swift.
Maintainence - IMO : both are same
Swift is a +1 kmpl more efficient.

All right, found a thread..
http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/indian...ighlight=Swift

Still I am inclined towards Getz somehow, though it is really under-stated.

The reason why people prefer Swift over Getz is due to pricing, and Maruti label. Nothing more.

My question still remains.. When does Getz plans a relaunch in the new skin?

Spdfreak, that was nice of you to give him a link to go through.

I think this is the way it should be done (the seniors helping out the newbies) rather than posting a one liner saying: Use the search option to get more results.

Said in the above manner it is akin to being snobbish....anyways, that is my personal opinion

There are times when you should let your heart rule. buying a car is one such decision.

My advice would be to go for getz if you like it so much. Its a good car after all.

I'd say check out the interiors in the Swift and then take a test drive and then check out the GetZ... I'm sure its gonna be GETZ.

Hey bro,
my brother was in the market for a new car too recently and he picked up the Getz over the Swift.
Looking at your requirements, i would advise you to go for the Getz.
It's bigger, more comfortable, better quality, and cheaper/same to maintain.
The swift is more FE and fun to drive.
Check out the link -

That thread has quite a few links on it which you can check out.
Some more links which aren't included in that thread -

Also,
according to ACI,
the new Getz is expected in end 2007, with a CRDi powerplant.
Hope it helps.

Thanks much for those links & your advice.
The end note keeps me wondering what's Hyundai upto.. By the time they'd launch the facelifted Getz in India, it would be already a generation old.
Even I heard about a 2007 launch, but guess it was in the early quarter.. !! Can't wait that long for sure !!
BTW - Is the late 2007 for the CRDi launch? Would the Petrol 1.2/1.3 be earlier?

I don't know/think that they are launching a 1.2L/1.3l.
In last months ACI, they mentioned it would be a end 2007 launch for the CRDi.
Cheers

Driving pleasure wise Getz is way ahead of the Swift. Swift in my view is an over hyped car. The two issues I noticed while test driving the Getz were, one - kinda dated dashboard which looked dull and boring in comparison with a much cheaper top end santro model and two - not a strong suspension. The drive is out of world with great braking to match.
Personally I found Swift very very sluggish, but the dealer blamed it on the Demo car. Have to get back to Mumbai to try it again.

dont know if this helps.. but just FYI ..Jeremy Clarkson and James May chose Hyundai Getz out of 27 Korean and Malaysian car models.

The reason why smart people avoid Getz is due to HYUNDAI label.

Cliche.
Only if I'd a better choice than Hyundai & Maruti stable for an upmarket hatchback with good aftersales, dealer network & decent pricing, I would've avoided the Korean marque altogether.
