IF you opt for 1.2 than you have to forget about getting good FE. max 10-11 in city driving (AC on)

Raj,somehow i feel the i10 not VFM.The car is good and looks good too.But pricing is on a higher side.I feel either WR or santro should be the take as both are VFM.Get a look at the new ritz also. The LXi version of ritz would be almost in this price range. The seats are not that low in ritz.

Ram, i10 is certainly VFM when compared to Wagon R & Ritz. The quality of plastics is simply better & the list of equipments at a given price is more in i10.

I havent driven Ritz so cant compare the engines.

EDIT

@raj- If the car would be driven mostly in city then I would recommend the 1.1

I'd agree with Ram that the i10 is not VFM. but then again, that is my opinion. Different people see value in different things. I dont see value in plastic , but apparently others do. I guess thats why I'm a satisfied Indica owner

@ Technocrat - doesnt the Ritz suffer the bad rear visiblity which is becoming a common trend across all new marutis ?

Yes it does thats why I said i10 is better

Btw Rear view on Ritz is atleast better than Swift or so I felt(I havent driven Ritz yet)

You know its cars like Swift & Ritz which make the seemingly over priced i10 look suddenly more VFM

Anyways even price wise if you compare equipment then i10 is cheaper except for the ABS & Airbags variant which is ridiculously high priced.

ram
they had a look at the ritz, but was not confortable with it's seating position.

yes, even i think the 1.1 would make sense. since the car would be driven by a girl, performance hardly matters! but i hope hyundai will not phase out the 1.1 in due course.

yes, even my cousin mentioned that rear visibilty is poor in the ritz.

Then go for the 1.1 Magna, I believe it will cost as much if not cheaper than Ritz LXi & will have much more features.

The 1.1 is a very peppy engine even more than the 1.2 it just lacks the top end like the 1.2, for city its really fun to drive. Hyundai too like Maruti doesnt phase out its cars early, so the 1.1 should not be an issue.

i would say wagon r ..

We have one in our family .. 10 years done 2 lakh Kms and not even single problem with engine !!

it still returns a good mileage of 14+ in cities and 17 on highways both with AC on!!

Wagon R would be phased out by the end of this year.
Around Novemebr most probably.
Would be replaced by a similar boxed car.But more stable.

Infact i am planning to sell myne before the phase out.

So Avoid Wagon R.Information from well placed sources in the industry.
