Maruti Suzuki Swift Interiors.

Hi,
I'm planning to buy a small car and i liked the Swift and would like to ask some doubts regarding interiors Swift Vxi or Lxi. I'm mainly interested in interiors of the car as i know the exteriors are excellent. I hope to take it on highways during weekends so....plz....
1. What are the storage space in Swift like the cubicle holes.. as i've seen that one one compartment in dash board. Any more such holes to keep things.
2. Does these models(Lxi/Vxi) have parcel trays under the seat, which is given by manufacturers for free.
3.Whats the space in the back seat and its leg room when compared to TATA Indica.
4. Is it really non-airy at the back... do u feel it??

So all Swift owners plz give your view on these and much more as you please.Hope to get your views on my queries soon. thanks in advance.

Regards,
Kiran.

You can test drive a demo car & as well measure all your queries. leg room cannot be compared with indica, which wins by a wide margin. Glass area is less compared to other cars, but not certainly to the extent where the flow of air itself is blocked.

What I can vouch for are the seats of the swift. They give awesome underthigh support. They provide good feel on long rides. The rear headrests are great although they obstruct rear view.

You are right mail4ajo about Swift, If it had another leg room equal or more than what Getz has it would have been termed as spacious hatch like Aveo UVA. I really liked Swift's rear headrest, underthigh support.

For medium height people and if 4 people travel in it its great car.

Regards,

Ravi.

Swift vxi abs would be the way to go.
Storage area is also pretty good...youve got a little storage in your centre console unit, front doors, behind the handbreak...etc
The rear isnt as good as the indica but pretty spacious...
Parcel tray at the back is not provided by the company but you could get one put when you go to your audio guy..for 400 odd bucks.
all in all a very good car....be sure to upgrade your tires though..

Sorry for offtopic post, I thought to post this here itself, I saw Swift's website, now it comes with different color shades.

New Maruti Swift car colors: bright red, orange, beam blue, mint frappe, metallic silky silver, crystal gold, black, grey

see this for detail. Looks like they improved few colors the way they look.

Regards,

Ravi.

The only closed storage in the Swift is the glovebox, which is average sized.

There is a large slot under the AC / Climate Control which can hold about 6 CDs. Additionally there are 3 cup holders in the centre (2 ahead of the gearshift and one behind the hand brake). The front doors have large slots in them too.

Only the Zxi comes with a parcel shelf.

Rear seat legroom is limited and due to the high window sills it does feel a little more cramped than it actually is.

Hi Swift usesrs with the original JK Tyres few questions
1. My tyres make a lot of rubbery sound at speeds of 80 and above is it OK with these JK tyres.?
What speed are these tyres are rated for? Being a newbie and after going thru the threads I am bit concerned abt failure of these tyres.

Has any member fitted Rear parking sensorson the swift Does it invalidate warranty if fitted outside. The dealer is charging exactly double the amt . As my wife is going to drive when i am not around. I saw the Xenos site they are offering the high end one for 3500Rs. The local guys here in borivli are giving it for 2800Rs.(some golden fan make or something)

FAbric or Art leather which seat covers are better

Any other safety features which can be fitted to improve driving safety?

I have a Swift Vxi. Dec06

He says this to get the business. Unless you blow up your reversing light, very little will go wrong in a poor fitment. All they do is drill holes in the bumpers and take the power from the reverse light. Risk is minimal

Yeah the JK tyres squeal a lot every time i take a U-turn or a tight bend... sometimes even under moderate braking. They're aparently very cheap tyres (the 185/70/R14), but I've done 160 km/h on them and I'm still alive. Make sure they're always properly inflated (28psi for city driving, 30psi-33psi for highways).

In terms of upholstry, in my opinion leather is best, followed by art leather and fabric comes in last (of course there are so many types of each).
