IMO Swift Diesel is more fun to drive than Swift Petrol. I think the VDi suits your requirements perfectly. A Pete's tuning kit (if at all!) for VDi should add icing to the cake. Even without mods, its pretty much fun to drive.

-fun YES
-space SO-SO
-average GREAT
-good technology HELL YEAH

One question...If you have 5-7 lakhs and space is a requirement, why buy a small car?

Fabia might be low on Fun factor as the rumored /available engines are all 3 Cylinder ones which lack the bottom grunt and are lower than quoted power figures of the Swift.

Ford Fusion is available for your budget and is a nice car available now has a nice potent engine and is a Psuedo SUV form factor

want a small car coz at 5-7 i can get a top end small car and i can get top end engine options (if available). better to have the best of the small rather than the worst of the 'big' cars.

FUsion i have checked but it doesnt know what it is. you know. . . its just too confusing that car. i just dont like it. also i hate the SRV. so these two are out.

also any clue about the fiat punto or the new palio ?????

How about the Baleno? Suits your requirements perfectly. Moreover, its a 'big' car. And certainly not the 'worst' among big cars!

About the Punto and new Palio, rumours have been going around since ages. No one knows for sure when will Fiat wake up.

valid point deciet
but i am looking at something for amchi mumbai. small, powerfull, fun. u know the logan is toooo much of a family car, the Esteem is a lovely car but its too much out of my age (no offences to any esteem owner). and i have my mind set on a hatchback. for me having an boot space is not necessary at all.

hmm in that case i cant think of anything other than Swift VDi.
You may also try Palio 1.6. But i heard its not as fun to drive as the older Palio GTX (due to engine tuning in favour of FE). Also, Fiat A.S.S. .. ummmm...

P.S. its DCEite. not deciet lol

One hope would be Honda Fit. May be a long wait though!!! Or Fabia

Else your options are going to Swift/Getz CRDi (when it comes)/ Palio 1.6. Please do a search and you'll find number of threads on these cars
