Swift ZXi - finally bought

Hi All

Just wanted to share that I have finally bought a Swift ZXi mint condition 2006, with 29000 kms on the odo, from Maruti True Value. So I have a warranty of 1 year & 3 free services.

The car is in MINT condition (but with pathetic JK Vectra 185/70/14 tyres) factory fitted alloys, Climatronic A/c.

So the immediate requirement is wheels & tyres !! I have decided to go with 15" wheels & VFM tyres.

The main purpose of this purchase was & is my Slip disc. Believe you me, the seating height & position has already done wonders for my back..

The next step would be to look for a "REAL" power upgrade, but no I am not changing the engine. I am going to have someone who understands engines to work on it, so I will end up with a stock engine with changed internals !!

This should work well !! I am happy with 40% increase on stock power, as long as it is REAL & RELIABLE !!

The detail will follow once finalized.

Cheers

Congratulations on your new acquisition. Yes, I can vouch for the fact that the ZXi's seat feels good for the back, but the JK tyres are pathetic - hardly any grip. Just a change to Michelins on the same 14" rims would be a huge change to the ride and handling - with change up to 15" rims, you'll end up with lower profile tyres, which may not be so nice for your back.

I hope you won't mind letting us know the price paid.

40% increase in power?

After changing the setting, please let the BHPians know about it, with detailed story & Pics.

Anyway, Congrats for finding such a nice car.

Thanks for all the comments guys ! Will post some pics soon as I shoot some. As for the 15" rims there is no major loss in ride quality, as I have driven a Swift running 15's & did not find that too bad !

Cheers

So what plans? Engine wise. I see signs of emulating Gogi's build?

Well 3.75 is what it costed me. Maybe on the higher side, but a VFM car nonetheless.
As for the frustration part my Lancer "power upgrade" was an experiance I will not forget in a hurry. Basically one learns & what better way of learning than from one's own experience ?

@mclaren1885

Plans are underway to make a TOTALLY RELIABLE daily use car. The list of upgrades shall be decided in the coming week or so. No Turbo just yet, just some engine internals & a short ratio Swift GTi gearbox & some other little stuff. Any ideas or pointers ??

Cheers
