I completely agree with @TheMag there. Afterall, its called "Service Industry" and as long as their service can not evoke customer satisfaction, I believe you are at a wrong place.

Sorry for late reply. Actually it was other way round. I have been going to Sagar for past 5 years right from the time the car was bought from them. Later my wife decided to switch because Pratham was just opposite to her workplace (bad, bad decision). But after that experience with Pratham we went back to Sagar, but neither we didn't tell them Pratham has damaged it, nor the car had any stickers. Sagar treated us as a regular returning customer. So the conspiracy theory doesn't fit much in my case, though I wouldn't discard it as impossible.

well, thats a part of the problem we find ourselves in isnt it, that saying "i don't care, but still i want the best".

am not defending the dealer or any shoddy service but, i would just say, go try it, then come and post in this forum. to be honest i did try it and i have to say its a thankless and terrible field to be in. merciless to put it lightly.

yes, as a customer we expect so much but its easy to critisize until you have actually gone and tried being a service center catering to 1000s of customers monthly.

I know doctors who do five to six surgeries everyday. Is it fair if they do a shoddy job.

If demand is high these people must increase their capacities. They do charge for it.

Well if they were doing it for free, I would agree with you, but when you charge for it and that too with 100% profit margin over parts costs etc., then you can't call it a thankless job! You get so much money for it, how is it thankless.

Top of all, whatever service one provides (car service, surgery, etc), the basic expectation from a customer is: he is capable of solving the problem and it will be done judiciously. This is matter of trust in relationship, if service provider can't win trust of customer, then he doesn't deserve to be in industry.

After all, every dealer has same goal!! And he will always have customers who are happy and unhappy with him. All we are trying is to be happy !!

Ok, back to topic of discussion.

I feel onething that we should catch someone in dealer service shop and go to the same person always (some kind of personal bonding). Also, after service, (if done well), promptly fill feedback form and send back. I am trying it with Pratham, will see how it works and keep you guys posted.

Absolutely. Thats called consumerism and capitalism :customer is king especially when its his money. The other method was called Socialism - for people who like it. And its no more.

certainly like you say its not free, the customer pays for sure but profit margins are not as much as what is generally assumed. 100% profit margins simply do not happen in automobile industry. believe me, vehicle margins are 2-4% and spares margins are 12-18%. besides all vehicles & parts prices are fixed by the manufacturer and not in the control of the dealership.

also when there is a special sale or offer, the offer value/subsidy normally is actually shared 50/50 between the manufacturer and dealer from their margins. thats how the auto industry works.

Feedback

Reviving an old thread on Pratham Motors - Can someone please let me know the feedback on service from them in Bangalore? My brother is getting his Swift serviced from them and needs honest feedback.

I bought my Swift from Pratham Motors in 2006 and got it serviced from them till the 3rd service. Moved on to Surakshaa and its been a good experience for last couple of years. Lack of professionalism, knowledge, quality and attitude problems - were amongst the reasons for me to change from Pratham.

Thanks Rajesh. I'll pass on the info to my bro. BTW - where is Surakshaa located? (so that I can tell him where to go)

Pratham is no great shakes when it comes to service, but I used to get my work done pretty well. It is a matter of knowing the people and knowing your car. Check if there is still an SA called Pratheesh, he used to do a good job most of the time.

Suraksha is located on Hosur road, just before bommanahalli junction, on the right side when going to electronic city.

If that is far off, you can try Mandovi also. One of my friend is getting his SX4 serviced from them since last 1.5 yrs and praises them quite a lot.

I prefer to go to Suraksha, even though it is about 15kms from my home.

Regards,
Mohit
