You lucky bum, ask those millions of owners who have no clue where their vehicle went.

Although you have taken your claim but still it was atleast recovered.

We went to see the car in crime dept.(CIA)the car was in same condition ,not even a single scratch and the theives got themselves fake leather seat covers and dark tints. The head unit had been changed to alpine and the had the same number(HR29Q 7009).

The theives have been driving the car all this while in faridabad.Around 15 other cars including a endeavour and a scorpio have been recovered, all the cars have been stolen using the same tactic by stealing keys from service centers.

The car now belongs to insurance company as we have already taken the claims and bought us a new verna sx abs(report coming soon).

That seems real fast work by the cops or the thieves were drunk and boasting in the local dhaba. Nevertheless, it is still chilling that such tactics are adopted.
Were they able to establish whether Orion had any insider help?

Did you get the registration cancelled and applied for refund, since that is not covered/settled in the Insurance and you can imagine who will be benefitted now with it.

You would have paid for registration twice now already(if not refunded).

When I used live in the US, used to see lots of ads for Steering Locks. It is a rod-like structure that you bolt-on to the Steering Wheel and considered a good anti-theft measure.

Did some Google to find if it is available in India - could not see any dealers. Any ideas?

We got a gearlock installed in the new car from the dealer we bought the new car from.

Ah! these are pimped up theives i see!! Alpine ICE, "ferrari stickers", tints.. lol! but why no number change??

BTW, one question. Since the car is currently the property of the insurance company, what is going to be done with it? will it be auctioned off? or will it just rust onto death like some cars in the police station??
