TVS Stand was a big-disappointment, I must say!

I was expecting to see some new/more powerful RTRs from them. It came as an absolute bummer when I visited TVS. Same old theme, same old bikes, nothing new!

RTR250 FxM is no surprise. They have been always flaunting their motorsports pedigree since the 2010 Expo. Need something more now TVS.

It felt more like a re-run of the 2010 Expo.

OT: Why no one is discussing the Honda CBR150R here on TBHP? It's a real screamer. 18PS@10500rpm, that'd be fun!!!

TVS is surely a company to keep a track off. Their products have matured in the last few years and there strategy has been good. The offroad bike showcased is indeed an eye catcher.
The reigning champion in the 150cc, Pulsar, is indeed gonna get nervous with the TVS stand with their upgraded apaches.

Nice to see this company taking on direct competition. Long way to go!

Mahindra's 2 wheeler entry has been a disaster to say the least. 3 years on they still do not have a volume seller in their model line up. Even worse they seem to have lost Kinetic's market share in the scooter segment to the likes of Hero and Suzuki!!

They do have a Moto3 program (thats the race you skip before watching the real Moto GP) which doesn't make any marketing sense as all they sell are auto gear scooters and one commuter motorcycle. Then there was an interesting 300cc concept called Mojo which never saw light of day.

M&M should perhaps launch enduro, supermoto, cross travel bikes and make up niche segments for themselves in India. This can be leveraged using the Mahindra SUV/off roading association. Otherwise I don't they are going to get very far taking on the likes of Hero, Bajaj, Honda etc...

Highly unlikely. KTM is owned by Bajaj.
And, TVS does have the technical wherewithal to come up with their own design. Some vested interests trying to tarnish the name.

The RTR250 was put together by TVS almost a decade back, much before Bajaj bought a big chunk of KTM. It has been doing rounds in various shows for sometime now.

A couple of magazines had reviewed this bike then. When they split from Suzuki they decided to stop using imported Suzuki motocrossers for competition. When the Yamaha vs TVS battle was at its peak in local and Sri-Lankan competitions, TVS wanted a machine in the 250 category. They assembled various competition parts of which I am sure the engine was a Rotax unit (they did both a 250 and a 400).
