This is really rubbish - peddling largely the same tech specs (suspension upgrade notwithstanding) and brandishing it AMG. I think its diluting the AMG brand to start with and for any half informed customer, they're not exactly going to be taken in by the empty AMG badging without any serious performance upgrade.

Sorry - but this just reeks of desperation in a market where their immediate 2 competitors are easily getting the better of MB.

This is not Really rubbish at all! This is how all car makers globally operate, BMW has the M pack, Audi the S line, and MB the AMG pack, but MB goes a little ahead in India and also adds Sports seats, and few others, it's not diluting the brand at all it just makes the cars look a lot better, and look at the price it's amazing,

And this is NOT any form of desperation but rather just market plans for the C which is now the oldest from the 3 germany trios! I find this update wonderful esp. for those who will not want the new 3!

Mate, Honestly speaking yes soon all models will get 7G but to keep things simple and be able to dilute old inventory with 5G I believe there will be little noise made about it, so they will soon be able to move 5G cars to those who are not exactly updated.

Thanks. Point taken. My bad, I didn't realise it was meant to be similar to M kit etc and was just AMG kit type performance. I got the feeling it was supposed to be a lot more. I guess in that sense you have a point, they're providing a lot more value and at a relatively good price.

I guess the new 3 will still be very hard to beat though like many have said.

Wow I wonder how they missed to say this at the event, or maybe the thread starter missed it out. But this is the biggest improvement in the Performance edition. Kudos to Merc for finally bringing it here. This is now the car to buy at the moment, its beautiful, well loaded with features, and yet comfortable at the same time.

Wow. Very silly to not advertise the biggest change of all i.e. the 7G tronic transmission.

So much hoopla about only 100 cars and no talk of this anywhere. On the other side you have Audi advertising every single feature of their new facelifted A4 even though it has the slowest engine and worst gearbox of the trio.

From the current 3, A4 and the C250, the C250 has the best engine on paper with 204bhp and 500Nm torque. One would think MB would be pushing this point across for garnering sales but they instead want to push a body kit. Sad.

Guys,a friend of mine had booked a White C250 CDI Avantgrade last week.When he asked the dealer,Interkrafts to change his car into this edition.They said No Such Edition has been launched and if so it will be cheaper than the Avantgrade.

Is it so that 100pcs of the C250 CDI Avantgrade will be sold as AMG Editions free of cost or is a Different Variant all together?

I think the Thread Starter missed it out because it was clearly mentioned, also there is a bit of conflict in inventory, which is why many on T-Bhp I advised to wait till July for 250CDI models but some needed it urgently, car is awesome now, love the seats in this, best is pretty much no price hike,

How is it Silly? It's bang there on their site in Bold what more do you expect? They sing songs to you? Also do understand there is a lot of old inventory with 5G and like I said in my previous posts those cars were sold / are being sold with lot of false claims to customers,

And while it's 100 cars or so, for most customers the new body kit, alloys and seats are a bigger factor than whats underneath it. Audi advertises everything because they have nothing really in their A4. (Engine same as Jetta, Gear Box : Worse than Jetta, wow look at our LEDs come one come all!) Just like you pointed it out,

The car is being sold as an entire package 7G was always planned to be a silent addition, and its a wonderful package for what it offers over no cost increase.

No dealer will let go off a buyer for the old cars, but push it it's not impossible or say you want to cancel.

Where did you get that link from? I saw no link on the website or mention of the C class AMG edition. Also when I open the link you posted it doesn't say Mercedes Benz in the url.

EDIT - Thanks. When I visited it was showing the new ML on the front page. Checked the C class section and there was no mention.

I wonder why they left out on advertising such an important update.

If you'll check the Mercedes-Benz website, you can notice that the C250 CDI is available only with the 5-Speed Automatic Transmission.

The specs you have posted are of the regular 250CDI models, and not this AMG Edition. Also whatever Mercedes told you of not increasing much of the price after budget is not true at all, in fact they have had the most hikes, pretty much passed entire burden onto customers,

CLS was 71 EX-Showroom and now 81 (Approx)
SLS was 2.04 now 2.54
E63AMG was 98 and now 1.12

Compare to BMW M5 was 95 and now is 98,
640d has had a hike of 2.66 lac

(All above are ex-showroom Ahmedabad, but proportions are the same all over)

And coming back to 7G, Do read my previous posts there is a bit of an issue related to old inventory which is why while it's a big update for some time it needs to be subtle.

It seems there is too much doubt about 5G or 7G. Todays advert in TOI should put all to rest.

It seems MBIL missed out on this during press launch.

Visited one of the dealership so clicked some pictures of the car and had a test drive too,the padel shift is amazing. Booked a White amg performance edition which will be delivered in 2 weeks time.
