E20 Petrol will be PAN India from 01 April 2025.

Govt started rolling out E20 Petrol in select cities from 01 April 2023. Giving 2 years time to become E20 Petrol PAN India. Already E20 Petrol is available in metro cities.

Car manufacturers would have to sell only E20 Petrol compliant cars from 01 April 2023.

Re: Ethanol blending to be made mandatory

Though this is Ethanol thread:

Looks like Methanol blending with Diesel has started, at least for captive usage like with BMTC (city service). Was following an Ashok Leyland city bus yesterday which was flauting a big sticker at the back saying it is running on a 15% Methanol mix.

15% Methanol blended MD15 Diesel currently under testing for BMTC Bus.

For consumer there is Bio Diesel 7% (B7) fuel available from Indian Oil as XtraGreen Diesel.
