Audi stable one can pick the RS5 (also way faster & more powerful).
Also the base R8 was available @ 1.6 cr & now it should be >25% atleast but still for it becomes a choice for some one shopping in the 1 Cr category.
BMW has the 650i to offer at a similar price point & should be more powerful & faster too (Not sure if 650i is still selling or not) If not then the 640d is exciting enough.
Porsche has the Boxter S (was available for 69.3L pre budget - Now can add about 25% increase) which is one of the most fun cars around & yes the 911 Carrera 4s was aprox 1.4cr before now should be 25% more of that making it shy under 2 Cr Nissan GTR not sure if it is available (But seen some discussions on our forums itself) can be got here through Nissan on request & falls into the 1-1.5 Cr range
The F-Type being a GT Sports car these are just what i pointed out were the 2 door coupe / convertible sports cars if one is flexible then more exciting cars like M5 can be looked at which is available now for aprox 1.25 Cr (Post budget price)
* Note all prices are Ex-Showroom |
The way I see it the F type is going to be around 1.3-1.4 on road for the V8 Supercharged. I doubt the pricing will go over this. That means around 1-1.1 ex showroom.
Leave the lesser variants out, the V8 supercharged on the F type is 495bhp. The XK with the NA V8 is over a second slower, and much larger and a similar price now after the budget.
The XKR was 1.3 ex showroom before the budget. You are adding only 25%, but it actually works out to 30% odd increase after the budget.
Just because someone is spending 1 or 1.2 cr doesn't mean they'll easily spend another 80 lacs or so. So no point in adding the R8 to this comparison, or the Carrera S.
The Boxster will give this competition in terms of dynamics, but then again the F type is more powerful.
The RS5 is great, but the F type is a roadster, so it will have its own niche.
The 650i was 1cr on road, now it will be around 1.2ish, but again this is sloppy compared to what the F type is supposed to be. The 640d is even slower, but yes its got enough thrills without being supercar quick.
The M5 is now 2cr almost on road. Pre budget it was around 1.3ish ex showroom with a decent amount of options. |
