Why White is still the most preferred colour ?

Maruti Swift does not have a white Color/shade and i bet it would look more exclusive than the Red and Black ones if released.

Though white is a decently gud looking color, the very reason that its seen almost in every car takes away the liking towards that colour.

Too much of something kills the excitement doesnt it!

Few more solutions for the White Mystery:
1. White colour being reflective, offers the car a more spacious look (hence it is preferred by our tour operators..)
2. Dents/repairs get better concealed with lighter than darker colors.
3. White for the middle-income owner also brings the front and rear detailing into sharp focus (Grille, tail lights etc - Maruti focussed on these and made money for years!)

The average Joe car owner now appears to be upgrading to silver for the same reasons ..

A white car with all black tinted glasses looks good.
Also, some time back white used to be the standard colour for most of the cars coming out of the factory. So I guess people got used to it.

I always loved white cars esp, white accents with white door handles,side mirros and side strips... looks total gansta car..

And the best of em' all, The White Accord....ohhhh... its unadultrated pleasure..damm good looking!

you forgot white wheelcaps, white tyres, white seatcovers and white carpets and white dash and white tint on windows too!

Back in the day of limited choice of colours, that was the case, but now i feel it is very rapidly changing.

One thing i can tell you for sure is that white is NOT the most popular colour amonst TBHPians cars.

I love white on cars. Popular or not, I don't care, I just love the look of a white car with dark tints.

yeah..white looks cool but fades with time and after that it looks terrible..Guess Silver is more long standing..

No yaar, I dont have white accent, I asked my dad to get white...he said it looks like taxi...grrr.

Finally we bought Real Earth shade, looks decent.

Well, dunno about white, but I'm slightly obsessed with Silver, though; back when I had my Sierra, I had painted the whole car silver- and I mean the WHOLE car. Even the dash, gear knob ORVM, etc. were silver...different shades, though; and it was so handsome..

Why white is preferred, simple...it looks really classy on some cars, esp the huge premium ones.

And white no longer is that common, silver is the dominant shade in the market now. Silver cars sell a LOT more than any other colours..
